Changed my life!

I’ve been using talkspace for a few years now, sometimes having consistent weekly therapy, and some lulls when it was less necessary. But having started therapy again has been wonderful, I feel lighter as a human being, mothers, wife, employee, friend, daughter, person, etc… I did also begin using a psychiatrist on here and that’s been very helpful to have my meds adjusted. I feel both of my providers really care about helping others and it shows. I appreciate their hard work and always showing up, when sometimes I haven’t wanted to even show up for myself. A always feel better after an appointment.

Had high hopes, BUT…

I really liked the therapist that I found through this app. HOWEVER, on our second session the app all of a sudden started malfunctioning and cut our session short. Then upon logging back on it asked me for my credit card info and I couldn’t log back on to complete our session until I’ve filled it out. Couldn’t this have been asked when I signed on? Or perhaps AFTER the session? Absolutely RIDICULOUS.

Grateful

I have been doing talk therapy on and off for years now and the professionals on Talkspace have been such a blessing!
I love how easy the app is to use and the notifications and reminders because otherwise I would miss my appointments quite honestly.
Great tool, if your insurance participates I highly recommend!

Time zones how do they work

Talk space has a recurring problem with timezone. So you book your appointment but it’s in the wrong timezone.
And for me, it was both wrong. Timezone in chat was different than the timezone for booking appointments, yet in settings it says my timezone is correct.
Repeatedly reached out to their tech support and it’s still
Happening.

Waste of time

I felt like these providers didn’t care on the phone with one provider and she says “what do you want me to do” if I have to tell her what’s the point in seeing her!

I do not recommend anyone waste their time or money on this app I wanted to give them a chance but failing to meet expectations 2 times and I’m done

Terrible connection issues

For some reason, if you get a call or an alarm goes off during your session, the app goes berserk and you must leave the call and try to rejoin but if you’re near the end of your session, then that’s the end of it. You don’t get to finish talking to your therapist. Oh yea, good luck rejoining the call if the app doesn’t continuously claim that you have connection issues. Then you can only join on the browser.

For an app where so many people are talking about serious things, it’s extremely frustrating how many connection bugs there are.

App is disappointing

This isn’t against any therapist. I had one therapist 2 years ago. Decided to try again this year, and with a new therapist.

I did the steps I needed, and went through my employer’s EAP. I qualified for 8 sessions, and TalkSpace was linked. Problem started when I was required to log in to my previous account. My EAP wouldn’t update. I tried several times. I couldn’t use my email since it was connected to a previous account. Then log back into a previous account, and no EAP got transferred over.

Decided to go through TalkSpace app, and it says I have the 8 sessions. Went to pick a therapist, and it then said I needed an active room first. Needed to then choose a therapist and make an appointment, then the EAP should connect. It did not.

Looked at my payment plan, and it has my insurance with a copay. Took that account off, to try and connect the EAP (FREE) sessions. Still not connecting. Ended up cancelling my session, because I couldn’t get a reply from the therapist if he accepts EAP or from the AI Ticket response that I submitted for my EAP not connecting.

THEN I just learned today that I was charged $125 for a late cancellation, which was 20 days ago. On a card that I have no idea where they have that card on file because I did not see it listed on any area on the TalkSpace app.

I was forced to create an appointment to get my EAP sessions started. I’m sure there were other options I could have taken to finally get a real person to help with connecting my EAP. But when you’re in the middle of trying to mentally keep yourself afloat, you don’t think straight. I should’ve just paid the $15 insurance copay, so I wouldn’t get anxiety of being charged the $125 late cancellation fee. I want to cancel my TalkSpace account.

So fast and simple

I seriously can’t believe that you can find a psychiatrist or psychologist super fast. There are places where you have to wait months to get in, but you can literally find an appointment within the same week so I highly recommend this app and the doctors are wonderful.

Awful experience

Tons of accidental messages and notifications that weren’t pertaining to my account. Difficult to reach support, and the person I was matched with had zero experience in my realm, in fact she seemed like she barely knew what she was doing at all. When I asked her for clarity on her process she immediately got defensive and unmatched me so I could no longer review her. Waste of money, waste of time. No way to dispute charges

Makes life worse

They don’t allow to reschedule bc a meeting went long at work, then they send a bill for $175 when I rescheduled it. So the service is money driven only. Thats all they care about.

Unfair Billing Practices, Poor Customer Service, and Provider Quality

Skip it. $600 later, after my provider put me on a medication that made me feel worse, she fired me and told me to go to an in person psychiatrist. Then, after I am positive I cancelled my future appointments, I received a $125 cancellation charge on my card for an appointment I was not notified I still had for the following day.

Well I did go and see and that “in person” psychiatrist. And they told me the Talkspace provider (who was operating under a LCMHP license, not a psychiatrist like the app filtered her profile for) had given me false and dangerous information about SSRI/SSNI/Stimulant classes of medication. The provider I see now was very disturbed at the Talkspace provider’s lack of understanding or knowledge of ADHD, and how SSRI/SSNI can negatively affect patients with this diagnosis. They can show signs of increased aggression and anxiety on these meds.

Regarding the Talkspace provider, when I told her I wasn’t sure that I felt right on the medicine she prescribed, she recommended for me to go up. When that caused me to feel worse and more aggressive, she exhibited gaslighting behavior about my experiences, and she abandoned me as a patient and told me to ween off of the medicine on my own.

Then she charged me a cancellation fee for canceling in a 24 hours window for an apt I’m quite sure I already cancelled previously, and I can’t even get ahold of a customer service number to refute the charge. Oh by the way, she fired me as a patient, remember? This company is likely over billing tons of people this way.

I am thankful the provider I see now is properly educated in medication management and mental health diagnoses, understands what over medicating is, and how dangerous it can be to put someone on the wrong class of medication.

This service is creating dangerous situations by not properly vetting their providers. Do not use them. They will take your money, put you on the incorrect meds—then abandon you.

AWFUL COMPANY!!!!!

TALKSPACE IS AWFUL!!! I can’t pick the therapist I want. All the appointment times are either at 8 am or 9-10pm. RIDICULOUS! Talkspace has NO customer service. I’ve been having problems signing up with Talkspace so I called their ‘customer service’ several times. Their people keep telling me to go online. I have already tried to sign up online but their software is so horrible I couldn’t. But they tell me to go online and they offer ZERO help! Why do they have people answer their phones when their agents offer ZERO help? It’s almost impossible to get through to an agent. I encounter LONG hold times and when I did get someone in the phone it sounded like they were in a Southeast Asia call center.

Their app is horrible too. I can’t locate my therapist on their app. They give you names of people I do not want. Their therapist search feature in their app is ridiculous.

I wrote them a long letter explaining my situation but no one at Talkspace ever responded. Their staff is rude or completely indifferent. They don’t care that people have to wait on hold for hours. They offer zero help.

What an awful company! I don’t know how these people stay in business. As I’ve been writing this review I thought they will never read it. They don’t even respond to my letters. And there is no way to write their company through their defective app. TALKSPACE IS AWFUL!!!!!

Hidden Fees in Terms and Conditions.

this app just like many others hides the fact deep in the terms and conditions that they can charge up to a $125 cancellation fee if you are to cancel within a 24 hour to 48 hour window. working in psychiatry that charge is just not ethical because of the type of patient that they are dealing with therefore Talkspace is really just a money hungry platform. I understand that the cancellation fee for business can vary and most businesses do have a cancellation fee… charging $125 in this world is just completely unfeasible and downright vicious.

My mental problems got worse

I had downloaded this app to finally see mental help. Since my health insurance includes up to 6 free sessions I thought sure why not. I had one session where the therapist was 15 mins late but I was desperate for help that I still stayed on. After the brief session I looked and they are now charging me almost $200. I thought well this should be an easy mistake to clear up. When I had called the customer service line. (Mind you I’ve had to try to call over numerous days because the automated system told me no one could help and would end the call. I was persistent and when I finally got ahold of someone they said that’s an insurance thing and they can’t help me. I called my insurance company and they said no since they are the ones responsible for the type of billing it would have to be them that fixes it. My health insurance assisted me and getting ahold of them when this time they say “it was user error on my part for not using the eap code correctly” And since it’s already been billed I was pretty much sol. My health insurance and I both tried explain that my eap code has a start prior to when the actual session occurred and they still said they can’t do anything. So now I’m here trying to warn everybody to please STAY AWAY FROM THIS APP. THIS COMPANY IS AFTER MONEY AND DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ONES OWN MENTAL HEALTH. My health insurance was a lot more empathetic to the situation than the actual mental health app. I will be posting about this all over to get the awareness out! STAY AWAY!!!

LIFE SAVER

Convenient, effective and helpful. 🤍

Insurance

They give you an “estimated” out of picket pay. It was $0. Boom slapped with $300 bill. And its Due on the next month or they will charge me more. Ironic, its an app that helps with mental health yet ive never been more agitated in my life. Lol

Amazing

TalkSpace is an app that makes scheduling more flexible and accessible. I like that you can get individual, couples, and psychiatric care all in the same place!

Love Talkspace

I love Talkspace! They really care about their clients and providers! I appreciate my opportunities with them to grow clinically and personally!

Undescribable

I’ve been to Therapy on and off for a few times in my life. I was looking to find a therapist. They could relate to me with my nationality and I it’s a perfect match. I think so far I feel myself getting better.

Talkspace has been my safe space

I have been utilizing talkspace in my healing journey and my therapist Crystal Ash has been a miracle sent from good. I have worked through trauma from childhood and I just turned 64, became debt free, ready to retire and start a new journey and talkspace has provide me with the tools to keep moving in a positive way. I appreciate the space and the expertise and professionalism of my therapist. Words can’t express my gratitude it you need a person to give a testimony on your marketing platform I am available. ❤️❤️
