Amazing app. Makes it so easy to find and book good restaurants especially while traveling abroad. The discounts are such a nice bonus too!

Dining App needs work on Reviews section

As a resident of North America I’ve been using apps centric to my location. The Fork offer European diners a way to see reviews and make reservations. Things it does to various degrees of success. One of the failings in the app is the review process which seems stacked in some ways. You have to make a reservation to even write a review so what the viewer sees is biased from that perspective compared to reviews apps like Google Map or Yelp. In addition content is moderated by AI and outright removed based on those same unseen strategies so viewers are not getting a fair and balanced review that has not been adjusted by their review of reviews process. Users are unable to edit / add / remove or change their reviews once submitted with out using a chat system to “contact the support team”. When a user tries this method it’s laborious and frustrating to explain an edit is needed ect. In my opinion do not trust the reviews and stick with the resy system only. I’ve made reservations on The Fork and that part of the app seems to work fine.

Full of awful substandard restaurants that why I have to use this app??

Full of substandard restaurants in the app (that’s why they are always 50% off), when you want to spend yums, now they require you to have min £10 spending, and it is the same list of substandard restaurants again to choose from. Have been using the Fork for 4 years, very disappointed and basically seeing it going downhill.

Beautiful restaurant showcasing local, seasonal foods

This was everything we’ve wanted Roman restaurants to be: fresh, local, and simple perfection. The oxtail, pasta, mushrooms, and chicory were the stuff of dreams.

Pretty useless

I’ve used it a few times and it’s been fine when you can’t get tables on slightly higher end sites but booked a table recently and it said the restaurant had to confirm the booking. As they never got back to me I turned up and the waiter said he recognised the name etc and we sat down to eat. But because they’d not “accepted” the booking Fork declined to give points or recognise the reservation. Conclusion? It’s easier and frankly less hassle just to conform directly with the restaurant. They weren’t busy anyway! The support on the app was hopeless so all in all, not to be recommended.

Great app for travel in Italy

The Fork was the most valuable app to use in Italy. It helped find good restaurants, and reservations and sometimes even got us a discount. I cared less about the discount and more about finding restaurants with good food and available table for my group.

Wish more restaurants were taking part

Rubbish App

Booked The Italian Republic in Almancil. Booking confirmed. Asked to confirm to the restaurant. Confirmed. On arrival said we had booked through The Fork. Bill arrived. The restaurant had no knowledge of the booking. What a waste of time.

Poor customer service

I would describe The Fork app as very good—provided everything goes according to plan. In the vast majority of cases, it works exactly as intended. However, when something goes wrong, the absence of customer support is astonishing, and that’s not an exaggeration.

Trying to contact customer service is an exercise in frustration. Most of the time, you’re simply told that support is closed. I’ve attempted to reach them through direct messaging on numerous occasions, only to spend more than two hours on hold before eventually being disconnected. On the rare occasion that you do get through to someone, you’re often told they cannot assist in English and that someone will email you later instead.

What makes matters worse is that whatever response you eventually receive is effectively final, as support tickets are closed immediately, leaving you with no opportunity to reply or continue the conversation.

For a company that is part of the Expedia Group, this level of customer service is deeply disappointing. It gives the impression that the company is happy to collect its commission when bookings go smoothly, but unwilling to provide meaningful support when customers need help.

That said, credit where it’s due: the technology behind the app is excellent. In around 95% of cases, everything works seamlessly, and the platform delivers exactly what it promises. The real problem is that when things do go wrong, customers are left with virtually no support and no meaningful way to resolve their issue.

First and last reservation

Booked reservation through fork with discount, reservation was not honored, then received several “no show” emails in a row, even though we ate there after waiting in a long line.

The Fork App

I signed up and used this app quite a bit during my last trip to France. Kind of like Open Table, but for Europe. Good listing coverage for better restaurants. I loved the promotion discounts and recommendations. I also loved that 100 percent of my reservations and discounts were honored.

Frankly, I found the 1,200 or so “Yums” that I accumulated over the course of a month to be of little value, they did not seem widely accepted in Paris out of all the restaurants listed and mine expired quickly. Just not worth the effort to travel to a restaurant that would take them and no good for my next trip to Europe later this year.

Great information

Great information to make selections and booking. Menus, pictures and reviews are very helpful. Good service when traveling overseas in new areas

More search option needed

Can the developer add option for us that we can block sub-standard restaurants and make our search process easier, I don’t need to see those restaurants everytime

Couldn’t use the app

Would love to be able to share my experience with the app but it didn’t work at all. I downloaded it when my booking through google ended up confirmed by The Fork via text. I downloaded to let the restaurant know I needed to rearrange. Unfortunately, I couldn’t even set a password as the app just told me it had failed hundreds of times. In the end I had to not show up for the restaurant booking. Might not be helping businesses really. I’d recommend just using google instead .
