Easy to setup
I’m happy that mobile ID for Virginia is setup. It took a few minutes to setup.
Good but still maturing
Overall a great idea and will be convenient. Will be much better as it becomes accepted at more places. One frustration is it seems to forget that I have registered. Not sure if that occurs when the app updates, but value is questionable when one goes to use it and gets prompted to register again. Happened twice to me so far!

Useless without Wallet support. I am not unlocking my phone to hand to anyone to scan.

Second attempt and still not accepted
Second time I’ve tried using this app and the second time I’ve been told they don’t accept it as ID. First was a pharmacy, second was for wine. Love the idea, but if no one accepts it as ID….
Very difficult to use!
It took me over 20 minutes, including deleting and reloading the app which had frozen up. The face recognition part was very difficult.
Long Over Due
Been waiting for this for years. Good to see DMV keeping up with the times.
Helpful but painful
The UX needs improvement. Scanning the back of your id is easy but getting your picture right is hard. It took me seven times to get it right. Each time it doesn’t like your picture you have to go all the way back to the beginning. The instructions of what to fix cut off on the screen so you don’t really know how to fix it. Glad I finally got it right but the experience is difficult.

It’s not working
I have a real ID drivers license and it is saying invalid. POS
Worthless
Tried to use this app in multiple places. Either they don't have the capabilities to use or they don't know how. TSA, grocery stores, gas stations...haven't found a place that'll take it. Worst of all is the look I get when I try to use an app in lieu of my driver's license. Great idea, TERRIBLE execution on roll out. Hopefully one day, it'll be valuable.

Only in Virginia.
West Virginia has had their drivers license in the Apple wallet for years.
Clearly this was well beyond the abilities of the commonwealth of Virginia, they had to come up with their own Rube Goldberg app which is a total embarrassment.
I have talked with several friends who have tried to use this app and everyone says they get to the point where the app tries to match the drivers license then they get a message saying it doesn’t match. All have given up.
It appears that Virginia went with the lowest bidder and they/we got what we paid for.
THE 4.7 RATING IS A TOTAL SHAME.

Won’t Scan Face
Tried multiple times to scan my face and doesn’t work.
Face scan doesn’t work
App seems like a really good idea IF it worked. I had no trouble scanning my driver’s license, but I gave up after the face scan failed 10 times. I’ll check for updates later and may try again if reviews improve.
4th time uploading DL
This is the 4th, or more, time uploading my DL. Every time there is a little bit of an update it resets. Make sure you are following 18013-5 and scenarios to make sure full compatibility with other RP’s.
Overall the experience hasn’t been great with the VA mDL but as former product manager for other mDLS I’m hoping the team pulls it together in the app side. I am also hoping that Apple and Samsung are in the mix for integration as wells as the AAMVA DTS, which it looks like your are.

Unable to create ID
The VA Mobile ID app will not create an ID for me. The app cannot complete the closeup scan of my face. The app gives an error message saying I need to blink or move my eyes to prove I am real, but doing this provides no better result. The app continues to give the same error message and go all the way back to the beginning to start over again. 5 attempts ended with the same result.

Good idea if it worked 🤷🏻♂️
Won’t get past face scan. Keeps saying blink or move eyes. Tried have dozen times. No luck. Deleted app until I can add it to apple wallet like other states. 🙄
Glitch
I am not able to scan my id I have try all the ways possible I try with a white background and a dark background a fully black background y try with low light and a lot of light but it just refuses to scan my id please fix this
