User reviews

Terrible experience

They sent me the wrong prescription despite multiple emails back and forth. Use another service.

Distance

The app has zero clue how far away you actually are. Even when I finally completed it. I still had to make an account and then take the test all over again. Frustrating is an understatement.

Fantastic Service

This service is so convenient, accurate, and affordable.

useless app fake ratings

this is a useless app that clearly has fake rating. first off i couldn’t even use it bc it says “not available in my region” well im in the US where warby parker is so why even have it if its only for certain regional markets? at least clearly state that. but it turns out that actually saved me time lol because after reading some of the reviews, THEY DONT EVEN TELL YOU YOUR RX NOT EVEN A ROUGH APPROXIMATION, it just goes directly to their ppl and then u have to wait to hear back which ppl in the reviews r saying they never even heard back but even if you do, you know damn well it’s going to be with a sales pitch 🙄 i just want a rough idea of where my vision is at, not this corporate BS!! and the 5 star rating is 100% FAKE!!! even the REAL visual acuity test apps have around 2.5-3.5 stars because they’re not super accurate and at least the one i tried requires a second person but still at least they actually DO what they ADVERTISE, UNLIKE THIS ONE! should’ve known it was garbage as soon as i saw it was by warby parker smh

Ms F

VERY bad experience. After initial test the voice said “great!”. Then nothing… so started all over. Second time kicked me out of the app after the test, and third time was “oh, looks like you moved quite a bit!” Ugh 🙄. So I tried 4th time… nope. Annoyed, want my time back.

FAQ

What does the Virtual Vision Test app do?

This app allows you to renew your expired eyeglasses or contact lens prescription from your phone. It guides you through a vision test, and an eye doctor reviews your results to determine if your prescription can be renewed.

How much does it cost to use the Virtual Vision Test app?

You will only be charged if your prescription is renewed. The cost starts at $15 for a single prescription renewal. If multiple prescriptions are renewed, the cost is $25. If the doctor cannot renew your prescription and recommends an in-person exam, you will not be charged.

Who is eligible to use the Virtual Vision Test app?

Eligibility requires you to be between 18 and 65 years old, have a single-vision distance prescription, see well with your current prescription, and have no eye health concerns. Certain states are excluded, and you must meet state regulations and doctor requirements.

Is this app a replacement for a comprehensive eye exam?

No, this app is not a comprehensive eye exam and is not meant to replace visits to your eye doctor. It is important to have your eye health examined periodically, even if you have no vision problems.

How long does the vision test take?

The vision test itself can be completed in about 10 minutes. After the test, you will hear back from the doctor within 48 hours regarding your prescription renewal.
