gas card is always a problem

While I love the ability to book a car and go, I always end up having to pay for gas out-of-pocket because none of the gas stations around me accept cards without chips. Which sucks because now I’m paying for the car plus the gas, when that shouldn’t be the case. Other than that, the cars could be cleaner. But overall, happy to have the service available.

Unbelievable

I honestly cannot believe how I was treated by Zipcar.
I had been using Zipcar almost DAILY, primarily for business trips. It was a service I relied on regularly, and I had built it into my routine because I needed reliable transportation for work.

Then, out of nowhere, my account was deactivated because of outstanding fees. Fine — I paid the fees. I took care of what I owed because I wanted to continue using the service.

But instead of restoring my account, Zipcar PERMANENTLY banned me.

Wait… what?! 🤯

So let me get this straight: I had been a frequent, paying customer using your service almost every day for business, I paid the fees that were owed, and your solution was to permanently ban me anyway?

And it gets even worse.

When I contacted a representative to try to understand what was happening and see if there was anything I could do, the representative was EXTREMELY rude and dismissive. I was literally told, quote on quote, to “have fun without Zipcar.”

Seriously?!

That is how you speak to a customer who has relied on your service for business transportation?

I wasn't asking for special treatment. I simply wanted an explanation and an opportunity to resolve the situation. Instead, I was treated like my business meant absolutely nothing.

After using Zipcar almost daily, paying my fees, and being a loyal customer, getting permanently banned AND spoken to that way by a representative is absolutely unbelievable.

Needless to say, I will never look at Zipcar the same way again. If this is how they treat customers who actually use and pay for their service, they have some serious customer service issues to address.

“Have fun without Zipcar.”

They then proceed to tell me to reach out to them on social media platform just to give me the same run around answer and can’t disclose the details of why they closed my account all they can say is it’s closed lol Zipcar is a JOKE they will fall one day as they already are.. where is Zipcar competitor 😂

Less and less value

When I signed up for zip car a few years ago it was great. There were 3 cars in walking distance of my neighborhood and reserving one was easy. In the years since they’ve slowly trimmed that to 1 car which was harder to reserve because it was the only one in the neighborhood so it booked out frequently. Now they’re getting rid of that last car in my neighborhood after next week. The next nearest car is a lengthy public transit ride away. What’s the point of keeping my account? It’s no more convenient than a standard rental car now.

God Forbid you need Customer Service

Convenient until you have to interact with customer service, then they send you around in circles like they have no idea what’s going on with their own platform. After two hours of trying to book and trying to deal with an issue on their platform with their support agents, I gave up. I could have taken the bus there by now.
