Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Scoop at 20K against Metro Flex's 1K. Scoop also leads on monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). Metro Flex's advantage is review sentiment (43% vs 29%). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Scoop holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Scoop has 20K ratings behind it against 1K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 29% of Scoop's written reviews are positive against 43% of Metro Flex's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Scoop ships an update every 3 weeks, Metro Flex every 4 weeks. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
