  • Please add This feature to roadmap

Hi and thanks for the great app. I would really love to make Jira mobile a huge part of my planning process. It’s great for quick touch ups and reference glances or just knocking things out. There’s just a small thing that I want a little more on the roadmap.

I want to be able to see the linked items per epic. When I’m on desktop, I can see all my epics and also see the issues tied to them (not the substasks but the actual, TASKS -FEATURES - BUGS etc…) in a quick drop down
View that makes for managing/visualizing the roadmap easy. The roadmap for mobile is lovely. But I just want to be able to see those items as well. It would make it a lot more useful and would definitely boost my confidence in using it. Thank you so much!!

Hi @agent619 - thank you for the detailed feedback and review. If I understand you correctly you want to see the epics in a single list with a dropdown to show you the tasks in the epic? If so maybe the list view on the roadmap tab will provide the info you are after? If this doesn't help, please send me an email so I can follow up on the feature request. Cheers, Jack
  • I have to consciously avoid using this app

This app is still useless. I have to remember to avoid using it. Today, I made the mistake of opening an Epic in this app. After working with the problem for a while, I needed to create a new issue in that Epic. Ooops! That’s one of the things that Atlassian thinks is not important, so that was impossible. I had to kill the app, open a web browser, log into Jira, find the same epic by searching, and then create the issue. What a waste of time. What is the point of this app? Why does it exist? I keep forgetting that it’s nothing but a roadblock and I keep accidentally using it. I always regret it.

Hi Ryan, we've been listening and I wanted to let you know that we've just added iPad support. We hope you like it!
  • Good UI with bugs

Overall the UI is really great and immersive. Only problem I noticed was that the tickets were not showing up in the right buckets. Some issues which were marked resolved still show up in TODo bucket. Checking the same issue on desktop version gives a the correct picture of issue statuses. Hope this is addressed soon.

  • Continuously scrolling of comment in back grind

When typing a response on the mobile app, the previous comment was scrolling up and down in the background automatically and continuously.
Very irritating to the eye and mind but very interesting and nice update overall.
  • Surprised at how terrible this app is

Whenever I use this app, I get incredibly frustrated. The mobile UI is absolutely dreadful, some features just aren’t available, and others really don’t work well in a touch interface. Often I find myself resorting to using the full website on my mobile, which is just as bad, but normally I can get a feature to work in at least one of these interfaces, but many features not in both.

I’m so surprised it’s so bad when this company is a tech company and their products are used to improve the development of software.

You must understand, I am a massive fan of Jira and Confluence; I’ve implemented both in many companies, and although I’ve tried other products, I keep coming back to these two. So I’m definitely not downing on Atlassian in general, just that they need to understand this app needs a massive massive massive improvement.

Hi David, thanks for the review. Sorry to hear that you are struggling with the UI. To help us understand where we can improve, are you able to email us at jira-cloud-native@atlassian.com so I can get a bit more detail on your workflows and how can make it easier for you. Thanks!
  • Inconsistent UX across breakpoints and app

I would give this app a higher rating if they weren’t such an annoying user experiences.

I hate that whenever you’re on your phone and you try to link to a task from your email it never automatically opens up the app it just tries to make you sign in through a browser even when you already have the app and you’re signed in.

When you’re using the app it is not clear when you’re in a sub task versus an epic. This has created many situations where people flag projects as duplicates or they can’t find information because they’re in the wrong part of a task. All I have to do is improve the hierarchy between those different areas within a project so that it’s clear where you’re.

In all, I miss Asana. When I manage my own team someday, we will use that.

Ps: our development team manager is the person who sold the company on switching to Jira. I find it funny that all the reasons they wanted to switch were integration between Jira and their development platforms yet project managers still have to manually move information from Jira to the development platforms.

  • I use it but I hate it

This app is a Dante treat. It depends on how you use jira web, to determine which ring of the Underworld you’re stuck in with the app. 2/3 of the web functionality is missing. And it’s in that 2/3 that you’ll realize how useless the app is. If you use Support Desk, forget it. The MOST USEFUL feature of Support Desk is creating project tasks from support desk cases. But you can’t do that. It’ll let you link to an issue you already typed in, but it won’t let you create a new, linked issue on the fly. What is the purpose of this app again? Oh right, to reach my Stand Goal

  • Convoluted Sign-in on Phone Makes Viewing Tickets Very Tedious

You’re working hard to triage tickets for your team.
They send you a few linked tickets via Teams for you to look at.
    You click the JIRA.
It asks you to sign in on your phone.
You complete the sign in process.
It takes you to JIRAs board and not the specific ticket you clicked on in Teams.
You get frustrated and click on the link in Teams, again.
JIRA asks you to sign in on your phone, again.

Each time you click “Open App” hoping the mobile app would open up, login, and take you to the tickets. Nope. Endless loop of sign-in, enter email, password, taken to JIRA board where the tickets are buried on a list.

When the user clicks on a JIRA link on their phone and is prompted to sign in, it should take them directly to the ticket in question after the sign-in process.

It should NOT take you to a general board where ALL of your tickets are. There’s no reason to click on a specific JIRA link that points to a specific JIRA ticket if all the all is going to do is take you to the general board.

Hi - firstly, sorry for the bug that you are experiencing. I can see how the sign-in loop would be frustrating. So that we can help troubleshoot the issue you are experiencing could you please send us an email jira-mobile@atlassian.com, thanks!
  • Immediate push notifications and fantastic UI

Perfect companion to Jira. Notifications are nearly instant, allowing for much quicker interactions with colleagues and workflows. The UI is intuitive and responsive. It is hard to imagine what using Jira was like before the app, as I can’t imagine life without it now.
  • Navigation could use some work, but still a very useful app

As the title states, navigating and finding issues has been a bit clunky for me via the app (could be user error), but I’ve found getting mobile notifications for issues, updates, comments, etc. Has been very helpful for keeping on top of issues that may have not had any activity for a while and acting on them quickly to preserve the momentum
