Terrible App and experience

The app is extremely buggy and crashes at times. It does not warn you if you’ve parked outside the geofence and allows you to cancel the booking which causes a lot of inconvenience because you have to go back and rebook the car to move it and pay charges all over again.

I also faced a bug that prevented me to log in to rebook the car. The support team is not very helpful either.

I’ve used many ride-sharing apps in the UAE and in different countries, but ekar has a long way to go in their app, services and support.

Hi, our app actually notifies the users when they are ending the trip outside the geofence and in unauthorized places. If the reservation is still ended outside the geofence, our team calls and informs the user to reserve the vehicle to avoid the penalty.

Scammers that steal money

They have in purpose mande Apple Pay fail! Please Apple review this app and remove it from the AppStore!

These people and company are scammers!!! They are stealing people’s money, they trick Apple Reviwers to say they accept Apple Pay, but in the App they force it to fail and for e people to add their own cards, so they can directly charge whatever and whenever they want. They charge u disputed fines, they charge other people consumption and their scammer company run without a Customer Support team that people has no way to reclaim their money back!!

Please Apple, shut down this scammer company and remove their app from the AppStore for going against the guidelines!!!

Hi Diney, unfortunately the claims made in this review are incorrect. We do accept the payments through apple pay and in no way we can decline them purposely. The users have to switch on recurring payments to avoid any declines. Also, our team is available 24 by 7 and can be contacted via phone or email.

The new terms and conditions

The new terms and conditions of having to pay 3000 SAR for membership and that it will be given back to you within 7 days of the last eKar ride is just ridiculous!!!! Would buy a car in installments with these 3000 SAR.

Beware of the Surprise fees!!!!

Although the idea and the service is very practical and nice, but the rip off hits you by surprise after returning the car if they claim that you have not returned it with the same fuel level as when u received the car Especially that it’s a percentage value that only the company can decide on, we as customers can’t know the numbers except when you find you were charged 40-50$ for fuel level discrepancy. Even if you had 1% discrepancy, they charge u for a full tank.

That is a Rip Off

Hi, our long term vehicles do not cover fuel and parking and to avoid any inconvenience to the next possible user we request all our users to refuel the car to the same level before ending the trip. We do give a buffer of 10% variance but anything beyond this will attract a penalty.

Intercity nightmares

Everything about Ekar is amazing however, when I did use the car for an intercity run, it was the worst nightmare. It’s the procedure of returns that’s not right. A renter is expected to leave the car at a parking that is so hard to find which made it such a nightmare to finish off a great Ekar experience. Ekar you need to do something about information provided to renters.

Unreliable

It happened to me 2 times already where I take a taxi to reach a car and the car is not there. The call center did not answer the first time and later gave me the same excuse that there’s a problem with the hardware. It’s a good idea and a good service but not reliable for the long term (to be used as only method of Transportstion).
