Good App but gets stuck

For the recorded audio, give us the option of tweaking the voice lower or higher. The app “Line Learner” does that (selection in “characters”). Then the reader doesn’t sound like me. It’s such a simple addition.
Also why is the video not as good as video without being in the app? Your app somehow reduces the quality & it’s not the end compression because my slates that I import come out fine after compressed. It’s a huge, noticeable difference between the quality of my slate & the quality of my audition - both shot with the same camera, just the slate is filmed without the app & then imported to the app.

Hi Jeanine, Thanks for your review and constructive feedback! It's definitely something we can look into. We optimize videos to have smaller file sizes for fast downloading, so we export under 720p. This is preferred by most casting directors. You might notice a difference in your video shot in portrait as it’s squeezing what would be a wide video into a smaller height (as it’s rotated). Hope that make sense! Also make sure you’re watching the videos at their native size, rather than in a bigger window. But please do email us support@Slatable.com so we can see what’s going on!

Thanks for your review. We only allow landscape video as shooting an audition in portrait is frowned upon. We created Slatable to help actors look as professional as possible so every decision we make is from that ethos. You can add a full-body slate in portrait, and also your headshots to the title cards if you upgrade to the Pro version, which does cost a little bit but also makes sure we can continue developing great features for Slatable!

Please contact us at support@slatable.com, and we'd be happy to answer any questions or concerns you have with the app. For video file size, we make sure all our features are casting director approved. One major request is small file sizes, so we've made sure the files are a size that is optimum for watching and downloading as per casting director feedback. Hope that helps!
ALL MY TAKES WERE DELETED
I’m sure most actors can relate in that the WORST thing that can happen when you’re taping an audition is for you to get the take you’re happy with, only for it to be DELETED. My stress level was through the roof. An app that’s supposed to help me, made things awful. I ended up having to submit a take that I wasn’t happy with just to submit something before the deadline.
I used to love this app because it was helpful and saved me time (by not having to worry about editing/adding a title page, agent contact info, etc), but this totally ruins it if it can’t seem to keep the most important part (the actual audition). OH and I have the premium version of the app (paid for it a while ago).
So word to the developers: PLEASE fix this.
And to fellow actors: BEWARE! And if you’re set on using the app, make sure to save each take onto your phone before going onto the next take/scene because saving it within the app obviously doesn’t work every time.
