Not Compiling My Videos
I LOVE Slatable! I self at least 3 times a week. And this app gave me leg up when self submitting. I love the new design and layout looks great. Since I use the app so much, figured I’d pay for the pro, which is rare. I’m a broke actor! Ha Since I’ve upgraded it nothing’s working. I did one video, but after that it hasn’t worked. My videos won’t compile. I’ve restarted my phone, the app. Tried doing it with my head shot and without (new feature) but nothing. I’ve tried now all day. Also when you hit trim while editing a scene or take it would be nice if something shows or indicates that he video is trimming. Currently nothing happens for like 3-5 seconds and then the screen refreshes. So When editing when you hit trim but also hit save before it’s done, the video doesn’t actually trim. Then you wait till after it’s compiled to see the Clip wasn’t trimmed. But again if you don’t know that screen will refresh after a few seconds and hit save before it’s done etc.. so I’ll keep trying to compile my self tape and hopefully it works.

Thanks to this app I don’t have to rely on having a reader if it’s a last minute audition I can do it all myself. I have gotten callbacks from a majority of my self tapes because of it! Thanks Slatable!

Beware Actors!! Expect to have to re-shoot your auditions
This app is absolutely terrible. I had to record a commercial self tape and the CD recommended actors use this app. So I used it. It would not compile the 4 clips I needed for my audition. I followed the instructions of how to put the audition together in the app and it would only put two of the clips I needed in my audition video. I tried just getting one clip at a time so I could just edit it together in iMovie (defeating the purpose of this app) and it would just become a dark screen. Not only does the app NOT do its job, it also won’t give you your video files that you record on the app!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So basically, if it glitches, you have to re-record your entire self tape. Every actors dream, recording a tape that they feel good about and not being able to use it.......... Never using this app ever again.

Very useful
I don’t know why the bad review because it’s really useful it save me the day! The app works perfectly on my iPhone 5 and good quality images and sound! Def would recommend! Hopefully become industry standards for auditions!

The app is on its way to being great!
I still had issues uploading to Dropbox; also, the file was still too big to send out to CDs and my rep team. So I had to use an editing software system to make the file smaller. So all in all, I still ended up doing what I normally would do.
When I bought the app, I thought I’d be able to self-tape it and then just submit to my team vs what I normally do (self-tape, upload file to editing software to trim/edit out certain places in beginning/end such as hitting record buttons).
Other than that, everything else was fine.

Yes definitely a nightmare
So that audio problem definitely not fixed I had the same problem as the previous guy it’s now 8 o’clock at night I’ve been trying to get everything right with this little app not working the sound is horrible not only can you only hear the reader side but you can barely hear the actorReally important audition now in jeopardy. Oh and I pay two dollars to have the watermark removed pointless because I can’t use the takes anyway Terrible! Seriously what up with the sound. If you want to submit a good self tape do not use this app call get a camcorder final read or pay someone to do it because this is not going to get it done

Will stick to other apps
Off the bat, cannot fix the size of the slate, the audition is taken like a landscape portrait. After numerous tries and selections I all but had a nervous breakdown because I wasn’t able to share the videos and send them to myself.
Though the overall approach enticed me, the weak functionality and slim pickings of options has me at a standstill that I will not be using this app again in the near future until it’s approved again.
The picture and definition however was quite smart and it’s overall performance satisfactory.

Great Self Tape App
I really enjoy Slatable! The best part about slatable is the quick download of your file which you can easily transfer to email, vimeo, or dropbox. I also enjoy the various options for the titles for the beginning of your audition. For seltapes its all about the quickness and slatable accomplishes that for me. You can easily attach microphones and tripods to your Iphone to make slatable a high end self tape experience.

What a nightmare
To anyone in the same boat as I am, looking for a solution to having no reader, don’t get excited right away. Test the app first.
I got a self tape audition but did not have anyone to read with. I was so happy to find this app on short notice. I got everything set up and even paid the $2 to remove the watermark. That was stupid of me. I should have waited.
I recorded the other character’s lines to incorporate them into my video. It sounded perfect when I plaid them back. While shooting, the recorded lines sounded great. During playback of the video, however, it was a nightmare. There was a loud humming noise at the beginning that kept going away and coming back, the recorded lines faded in and out, it sounded like I was under water, and the whole video was ruined. I 100% could not submit it. I kept re recording lines, testing everything, and the same things kept happening. The recorded lines sounded perfect when I plaid them back, they sounded perfect while filming, and then when I plaid back the video it was a disaster.
I am devastated. I have no idea what I’m going to do now. Slatable, this absolutely needs to be fixed.
