  • Too buggy

This app is way too buggy to use. Between encryption breaking down, chats going missing, chats getting duplicated only to be back to normal when you restart the app and many other bugs that cause me to need to reinstall and or log out and log back in I just can’t use it. Problem is, it is the “Flagship” client for Matrix and currently one of the only options that works right some of the time on iOS.

  • Active on app

It’s a great app, but it would be nice if we could see when a person is active and how long it’s been from the last time they where on line. And it would be nice to see the message on the notifications. App keeps crashing and then I’m unable to re open it again. I have to delete the app and after install again to open app again. And once I’m in there again I can’t read mg messages it says it’s encrypted .. please fix ASAP. Or I will have to find another texting app that doesn’t crash!

  • No Feature to use Back Camera

Hi, I love the flexibility of the app. My only issue is there is no option to flip my camera to the back camera. Doesn’t seem to be available on the iPad either. Other than that, it’s great.
  • Bugs

Unable to verify account using Phone : when trying to verify account using phone the email is sent but when clicking on the link it opens the app and does not complete the verification.

Cannot add phone number: when trying to add a phone number on account : asked to sign into google account when you enter in your password for the google account it says wrong password but once you swipe down to get rid of the login screen it spams your phone with verify codes and these codes do not work when trying them to verify the phone number.

Unable to make account discoverable which means can not chat with friends and family

  • Could be better

This would be a lot better if it had threads/channels within rooms like slack or discord. Its no better than telegram currently.
  • Privacy first, functional and easy to use

We use Element and the Matrix network internally as a messaging platform, an alternative to slack and it serves its purpose well with no hitches.
  • App doesn’t work

I am already struggling with the app… It has slow load times, I deleted the app and re-download it and now it keep on saying I got the wrong password… I typed in the right password and it still won’t let me in. I restarted my password he second time and it still doesn’t work. In order to talk to tech-support. You have to chat with them on Element… Which I cannot do because I cannot login.

  • Has potential

I was keen to learn more about Element on Matrix after reading an online review and have been giving the app a try for a little while (though I haven’t yet been able to convince any friends to install the app).

Following the last update, the app became unusable on both iPhone and iPad as it gets stuck on launch with their spinning logo. Deleting and reinstalling fixes the problem briefly, until one exits and re-launches the app. Then it’s back to being unusable. Hopefully an update/fix will be released soon.

The app and service have potential.

  • Missing features from iPhone OS counterpart?

Using on iPad, and there doesn't seem to be a way to save images? This is usually down by holding on the image, but this version on iPad has no such feature.
  • Terrible.

    crashes on launch.

Abysmal performance irrespective of home server.
