Best home automation solution
A friend of mine got me interested, I delayed cause I was using Smarthings and wanted to get more out of my investment. But after moving to Home assistant everything in my home is automated it works flawlessly the app is great excellent service.
One caveat you have to have a lot of computer skills a lot of programming understanding and quite a bit of technological competence to set it up, but if you meet that criteria there’s nothing better than a Home Assistant.

Awesome companion for Awesome Home Assistant
Home Assistant is awesome, and this companion app is just perfect.
Will not let me log in
I get an error regarding URL at log in and can’t get any further. Need help
Nice but a bit buggy and unreliable location sending
It’s a nice app and a useful front end for home assistant that reflects the config from the main web ui well. This review is based on iPhone XS
The initial set up isn’t that slick - instructions are not great and several restarts of the home assistant server before everything is acknowledged.
The location tracking is poor and the phone rarely tracks location and fails to set home / away which is annoying.
The app also has a bug where sometimes it sticks on the home page and won’t select a another facet until restarted.
Otherwise useful for a quick access to all smart home and automations in one app!

Can’t wait for the IOS 12 updates... works great I get all push notifications. Been using Hassio over a year now. Love’in it

Terrific App
Love this app. We're an Apple family, but our smart home system all runs through Home Assistant, and for us this is *much* better front-end solution than HomeKit integration. Have tried several different approaches to presence detection, and this app does far and away the best with virtually no batter degradation. Love it.

Great companion app
The only issue I have been having is crashing when trying to open the application using the url scheme ‘home assistant://‘. The application starts to open then crashes under all circumstances. Maybe I’m missing something but I couldn’t find a list of commands the url scheme has. Other than that the app is a very good companion.

Cannot connect
It asks for a URL and password, but not user name. Not surprisingly it cannot connect. I suspect instead it wants some sort of key. but I don’t know how to set or generate one.
Opening settings crashes app.
Great companion app for home assistant, however it crashes whenever you click the setting icon. I would've rated a 5 if this major bug was fixed, but it's been an issue for almost a year now.
