No space available, car got vandalised

I arrived at the specified time to park up before a meeting and then a few days’ stay, and found that no parking spots were available, and that booked spaces aren’t in fact reserved, so I’m not sure what the point of this service is. Customer services didn’t get back to me until hours later, so I had to work out a solution myself.

The car park was full, but luckily the helpful Hilton Hotel (location of these parking spaces) car park manager (not involved with YPS) told me I could park in a non-demarcated space in the car park. I left my car there for 2 nights and at some point it was keyed on both doors. I won't be using this service again.

Pcn’ed even though I had paid for a space

After using this app many times to pay for parking I received a PCN, even though I had paid through the app. I contacted them and just got an automated response saying that they are dealing with it. Nearly 2 weeks later and nearing the deadline for a reduced rate they finally got back to me and said that it had been cancelled. I also contacted the company that issued the PCN and they are looking into it as well. Not a great response, it should have been quicker, if it had been upheld I would have had to pay the full £70 at no fault of my own.

Useless app does not work

Ridiculous

The app it self works fine and does the job although I think it’s ridiculous that you cannot choose a time earlier than the current time it is. Especially for people who arrive and have maybe forgotten to put their parking on they can’t choose the start time that they arrived but only the time that it currently is. Also like on my case when I have went on to extend my stay and although it said it had worked and came up with the confirmation screen I realised when I had got home I hadn't received any email confirmation of it and it’s conveniently not in the app. I’m more angry at my self as I usually screenshot it and this one time I didn’t so now I’m currently waiting on a hefty parking charge to come through its a disgrace and especially given the current climate we are in.

How to pay?

I parked up in a car park having not previously booked a space…I found the sign with the ID and saw I had to pay when I leave. I attempted to pay as I was going to leave but didn’t understand how, it said I had until midnight to pay. When I got home I tried and tried to work it out, I asked the online chat how to pay, it thought I wanted a refund! Then I filled out a form for a call back, the email response I received just showed me how to book space, not pay for a space I had already parked in! Why is there not a phone number to call to ask someone for help?! I gave up and a few days later received a fine :( I had no choice but to pay, the appeal process had no option for “not being able to pay”. I won’t be parking anywhere with one of the your parking space signs again.

Dependent on space-owners!

It’s an obvious point to make but the success of this is very dependent on the space-owners. Each booking brings up a friendly green button labelled ‘directions’ and another one labelled ‘call owner’ in case of difficulties. For my booking, the ‘directions’ were inaccurate and although the owner had provided a clearer description of how to find it elsewhere in the app, I had to hunt for this later. The ‘call owner’ button just led to 3 unanswered phone calls and there doesn’t seem to be any way for owners to get in touch if they miss your call. So I paid almost £15 for a space I never got to use, as well as having to find and pay for another space. In other words the app setup needs a bit of tweaking. It also can’t save your from rip-offs, however well set up: turns out the local paid parking was less than half what I was charged by the private’s space’s owner through this app!

We fully appreciate that on this occasion, the Space Owner remained unresponsive which didn't help with your reported concerns. As you have mentioned, the post-booking instructions are displayed immediately on screen at the time of booking and can be found at any time through the app, website or email when locating and accessing a booked space. Although it shouldn't be necessary to get in touch with the Space Owner, we do expect Space Owners to remain available for their drivers so this occasion is rather disappointing. To clarify; the parking instructions and pricing are set by the Space Owner so while YourParkingSpace is able to offer immediate support (as well as refunds and alternative parking) through WhatsApp or the contact form, the value proposition of private off-road/driveway/gated/secure parking is for the driver to decide. Excellent parking experience

After messing around with other apps I tried this one. Our vans were oversized and we found ideal Parking in Edinburgh. Impressive. Easy to use. Felt the space was safe.

A joke app - don’t use it.

This app is an absolute disgrace. I booked and paid for parking in Knightsbridge three weeks before it was due, only to turn up at the allotted time and be told the car park was full. I WhatsApp’d YPS to try and get an alternative parking option and 12 hours later I’m still waiting for a reply. I had to drive around London on a Saturday afternoon until I could find an alternative slot, making me late for the event I was attending. Don’t use these people - they do not deliver what they say they will.

Very Misleading BEWARE

Just downloaded the app, getting used to it tried my local area Disgusted that they are trying to charge for our local FREE Tesco car park Will not use this. If I could give no stars I would DEVELOPERS HAVE ASKED ME TO UPDATE MY REVIEW AS IT COULD BE MISLEADING TO OTHER DRIVERS. I WILL UPDATE IT WITH WITH MORE INFORMATION The Tesco carpark I am referring to is in Burscough Lancashire When Tesco built the store it was on the understanding that Carpark remained a free community carpark. The signs reflect this as fines are only given to badly parked cars and those parked in a disabled space without a permit - I have sent the developers a photograph of the sign - they very quickly stopped replying to my WhatsApp messages The carpark is regularly used by train commuters to Manchester ( my daughter) as the station is across the road, and the locals using the village amenities from the local church, school pickups, restaurants etc

Hello Tricia - we have an official relationship with Tesco, enabling non-tesco customers to utilise the car parks. All marketed Tesco locations are free only for Tesco customers and only for a specified period of time, typically two hours. Utilising our product enables non Tesco customers to park legally, and for anybody to park beyond the allotted free period without incurring an automated parking fine. We would appreciate if you could update your review accordingly as it could be misleading for other drivers. BC

Every reservation has been fake. Has changed my reservation time. None have given me a refund.
