It is very helpful to have ones student loan information at fingers reach. The app is rather simple and easy to use. I do see there could be improvements in the app speed. It takes a very long time to open& load the app. Other than that I appreciate the app being simple to use and basic. The style is a bit outdated however it is at the end of the day for making payments not being cute !

Not Accurate

This app is horrible. It is not accurate. Or it’s the reps. I made a payment based on what this app said , it stated no payment was due back in September and the following month received a call for nonpayment. So I paid 125 on September , then I decided to call to see if there was an issue with app and rep told me no and that because I paid double there was nothing due for November. Log into app just to confirm when I generally pay bills on or about November 6 th and app showed $0 amount due. Log in today and says I owe 100 dollars. 50 of which is past due. Ya’ think you can figure this crap out please. No one at Sallie Mae knows really what is going on and di not give accurate info.

Can’t get past the log in screen

I’ve been using this app for over 4 years now to keep track of my student loans, and up until yesterday it never gave me any problems. However, yesterday when I tried to log in using my FaceID, it keep just trying to log in and log in and log in. It was an endless cycle of asking for FaceID, so I thought maybe if I just enter in my password it would fix it. Nope! Then, I looked at the App Store to see if I had an update for the app. I did, so I updated the app hoping it would fix the log in problem. It didn’t. I even tried deleting the app and redownloading it, and that still didn’t help! I’m hoping this review will bring attention to this problem, since Sallie Mae doesn’t have an online tech support to contact for app-related issues 🙄

The whole company is trash

They have a feature on their app in their website where you can enroll into auto debt. Which basically means they automatically take the amount of money out of the bank account you have registered to the account. They never took the amount out of my account I believed they were and they weren’t. The app always says no payment is due. They don’t take the money out of my bank in time enough for me not to be past due. And the customer service is TRASH

Apps fine, company is a scam

Typical of these types of companies, they take advantage of young people to get them loans to go to college at insane rates and normally require immediate payment, even while in school. I have written reviews like this countless times and not ONCE has anyone from SM replied back to me. I have been lied to multiple times on the phone as well and, to top it all off, they required payments throughout the ENTIRETY of the pandemic ! Lovely company ! I will stop here and not waste another second complaining about this company. If you have any other means to get your college funding, do that. Stay away at all costs from this company and ones similar.

Complete and utter trash

The It team/app developers at Sallie Mae should be humiliated and ashamed of themselves for even considering themselves a part of the app developing work force. If it doesnt rotate to landscape then it is not an app that is compatible with Ipad. The amount of bugs and lags in this app is again, embarrassing… How am i supposed to pay the 150k I owe you if the app (and website) crash every time i try to do something… they don’t even have crash reporting enabled like they don’t even care. Super disappointing… fire your IT team immediately.

Glitchy App

I’ve been using this app for the last couple of years and since the last update it has been nothing but glitchy. I can’t even use it because when I click it to get in, a blank white screen pops up with “I agree.” Except even when you hit agree to whatever is supposed to be there it does nothing. This glitch is essentially locking me out of the app. Please fix this!

Terrible customer service

Every time I talk to customer service about my payment arrangements I have been told they will work it’s me to reduce my payment and assure me I’m all set and then I look at my account and the monthly payment has changed significantly. When you are on the phone they seem helpful but all it has done is cause more issues and negatively affected my credit score cause they just talk and do not doing anything to help their customers. I would never recommend them for Student loans - I work 2 jobs to make ends meet and they don’t care about helping so that I can afford to make my payments

Credit card and debit payments

Credit card and debit payments are much easier. I would like to see this become a permanent option to make payments.

STILL doesn’t allow me to make payments

I downloaded this app a couple years ago so I could make payments on my phone. Every single time I’d try to, it would say “error” despite me having the money. I downloaded it again yesterday and STILL does this same message, even if I change payment methods and if I do it during the day. What’s the point of making an “easy to use” app if you don’t even let payments get processed?
