Cannot connect to the Internet
As many others have reported here, the app does not reliably connect to the internet, even though both WiFi and cellular data are functioning normally. I have tried every usual remedy, restarting the phone, reloading the app, as have others. This “bug” renders the app useless.
The software people at Medtronic should tackle the problem and notify us when it’s fixed.
IOne other issue: it’s reported above that the doctors are resisting the addition of a feature that would allow patients to view their own data. Really? Their opposition is so typical of the patronizing attitude of the medical profession toward us patients. Knowledge is power. Don’t lord over us. Software engineers: Kindly pass on the message.

Give us a reason to use this app!
This app nags me when I have not been connected for a few days, but it doesn’t give me a reason to use it. If it would do one thing, just tell me my heart rate, I would use it all the time. It offers me nothing whatsoever except a chance to drain my phone battery. My doctor only checks my device twice a year and so I have no motivation for keeping it connected 24/7.

App won’t open.
Ever since recent update the app does not open. The icon is now black to dark blue and when it “ opens” there is simply a blue page with MEDTRONIC in the middle of the screen. I can’t even check to see if the ER interrogation shows up because I can’t get past the blue page.
Patient
The pacemaker is fine but after seven weeks the doctor has never gotten back with me to check it. I know it is usually done within three weeks. Medtronic , get on them! Five stars for the device
Really??
You are collecting all this data and NOT giving the patient themselves access to it? This is the age of “patient activation”. Those who know more about their own health are more likely to more actively manage their own health. No reason this data should be kept secret from the person generating it.
Horrible App
I have a Medtronics Pacemaker now for 3 weeks. The MCL Heart app has not worked. I have tried everything possible including deleting the app off my devices and the cloud and reinstalling. The error message says that it can’t access the internet. All my other apps work fine and all the required settings for getting the app to work on my device were correct. The Medtronics tech services have not been helpful at all. The app is designed to send readings to the clinic in case there is a malfunction or issue with my heart. So I am basically alone on an island without any means of support. I give it zero stars.

Satisfied but would like more
I am very happy with the app rather than the bedside device. I travel for business and having to think about lugging a large device around was another nuisance. The app on my iPhone is simple and allows me to send an update on demand and schedules my regular transmissions. However, I believe there is room for improvement to allow the pacemaker user to review some of the data. I spoke to my my Medtronic rep at my last appointment and he said this is under consideration but there is pushback from the Drs. I understand some of the concern, but I as the patient should be able to see some of the data. I want to know if I have afib in my history. I am very concerned about afib and it would great to know if it is or has happened.

Additional enhancement
I never know what my heart and pace maker stand.
1: The app is not bad but it would be nice to know the status. Is it collecting data?
2: monitor heart rate blood pressure and pulse. So we can view captured data over a month 6 months year.

Great concept
Had very high hopes for this app. Thought it would be great to be able to watch my pacemaker in real time.
Installed app, went through registration process and at the end I was told that the app could not connect to the internet. I have a strong cellular signal and am also on my home WiFi.
I called the Medtronic help desk and they were absolutely no help at all with this problem. I was able to download the app, so connecting wasn’t the issue.
I connected to my WiFi modem from my iPhone so that’s not an issue.
My IOS is supported by the app so that’s not an issue.
In the end the help desk didn’t have a clue as to why the app couldn’t connect back to their servers.

Works great, question
This app is a wonderful product. Used to have that machine where I lived. Since it could not read my pacer being far away from cell towers, couldn’t use it. Love it, now I don’t have to make monthly visits to Cardiologist. Question: How does one get the “Vitals Tracking” to work? Thank You for this product. Look forward to your answer to my question.
Kindly,
Linda
