Wish I could afford this

I can see this would really transform your life if you have the money to. Unfortunately if you are below that demographic it’s out of your reach. Same old story. There’s help everywhere for people with ADHD who really want to make something out of our lives, don’t know how and see all this coaching and help everywhere that we can’t afford. It’s like looking at photo of your favourite meal but don’t have the money to buy the recipe or ingredients then non-ADHD people everywhere telling you “if you want the food why don’t you just cook it like everyone else does! You have an oven just cook it yourself it’s not hard!” Well I don’t have the recipe and this app gives you half the ingredient list and half the steps but then you have to pay for the rest if you want to finish cooking the food. I’m hungry for life but so tired of not being able to afford the ingredients or tools! Anyway sorry for the 3 stars for such a good app. I just wish I could afford it.

Really useful tool, bloated with different premium feature adverts

I use fabulous as a timed tracker for my morning and evening routines. I have ADHD, so it really helps to have an app that’s following my routines in real-time with a timer so I don’t get distracted and lose track of time. It’s also a nice little dopamine rush to tick items off in the routine and hear the cute little achievement sound effects that play with it. What makes completing routines even more rewarding is the daily tracking feature the app has, where you can have running streaks that you can look back on. It doesn’t work so well for people with regularly changing schedules, but it’s still helpful.

The one thing I find annoying about Fabulous is that despite being a paying customer, I have to scroll past adverts for features of the app that I’m not interested in - for instance the real-life coaching. I already have an ADHD-specific coach, who I am happy with, and am also very happy using this app to track my routines. I don’t appreciate being bothered about paying for a Fabulous coach more than once.

Generally a really invaluable app for me that I would recommend to others, just a few niggles.

Extremely dodgy

I rarely review apps but this one needs to be called out.

App pricing seemed reasonable in the App Store, and I downloaded it to try it out. As others have said, it’s intentionally designed to make you think you have to commit to a plan just to try it out. And the plan in the app was 4x the price of what it said in the App Store. Not good.

If you click and close that window, you then immediately get offered the app at a far lower price (pretty much the original advertised rate), albeit with a shorter free trial. But then if you select that like I did you start getting pestered straight away with offers of “upgrades”. All of this before you can even take a basic look at the app and see what it’s like.

After far too many pages, offers and prompts in the way of trying the app I decided to cancel. Only you can’t from within the app or the App Store. So from there I go to the (awful) website and cancel. Now I get offered an even lower price option and hassled not to cancel. As well as pages that look like you’ve cancelled, until you scroll down and find the “continue to cancel” button.

After you cancel you then get an email offer for a 30 day free trial instead of the original 2 weeks (then 1 week) offer.

Incredibly disingenuous, and an absolute mess. Looks very clearly designed to trick people into overpaying. Stay away.

Life Changing

I’m not one to write reviews but this app is so well thought out and has been sort of life changing for me. It is so encouraging and motivating in how it help you to build ggood habits. I have turned around how I have been. I am finally in a good routine that feels right and keeps me positive. I am starting to realize som goal and I am not giving up like I used to. I am more confident. It’s fun and interactive and the coaching modules are great. I hove how customizable it is. 2 things I would give to improve it is more icons to go with habits you set and the ability to assign different background music for each timed task. I don’t always want calm ambient music, sometimes I want upbeat if it’s a timed tidy up session or workout etc. It would even be cool if you could use your own music. Thank you developers for making this app. It’s awesome all the way down to the graphics and sounds! Also, it would be cool if all of your apps could integrate with eachother. Especially Shape and Ambient. I don’t think you need all the apps. The shape app, Lumiere app, and Ambient app all need to be rolled into Fabulous. They could easily be combined. Just my two cents. I do highly recommend this app to anyone wanting to get out of a rut and get good habits going and develop a better mindset.

Used to be better - not easy to use or customize some things even with full subscription

I subscribed for the premium years ago and I really enjoyed the app. It flowed well and actually made routines and getting through tricky parts of my day easier. I unfortunately cancelled due to money and recently picked it back up again because I loved the app!

Whatever has happened over the last couple years has turned this into a frustrating app to use. The Home Screen is way too cluttered with things from other tabs like your journey, there’s a lot the app just does and there’s no way to customize it, so it ends up feeling messy. You can’t control images, sounds or voices when you’re in a routine which would be really helpful. Honestly, this app is starting to frustrate me when it’s supposed to be making things easier. Really regret getting the subscription again when it’s taken a downward turn.

Good concept for the app still, just functionality/smoothness and customization isn’t there and has seemed to get worse. If someone wants to point out a way to change the voices or clear up the home tab that would be great.

Don’t download this!

I downloaded it and signed up for the 7 day trial and then spent the 7 days trying to find where to remove the subscription so I wouldn’t be charged. I thought I did it yet my credit card has still been charged. What a horrible company, they should not have to force you to take their product if you just want to try. I will fight them to the end to get my money back. January 2024

Scam, stay away!

For an app that claims to use behavioural science to improve your life, they sure seem to be focused on using behavioural science to take your money! Don’t sign up for a free trial, don’t sign up for a “pay what you want” two week premium membership, because they make it as difficult as possible to cancel! Totally sleazy, the app developers have no shame. (Cue the cut and pasted response from the customer service team).

Charged without knowledge

App gave a discounted price then bumped it $55 without my knowledge and not through the App Store.

Don’t do it

Read carefully all the other 1 star reviews. This company wants more than anything to trick you into a year-long subscription and then inform you that it is NON-REFUNDABLE. It doesn’t matter that you are contacting them immediately after you got charged, doesn’t matter if you no longer need or want this app, and that you weren’t even aware you were subscribed. Their response is basically “sucks to be you, you should’ve read our terms and conditions, no?”

They use numerous strategies to achieve this. It’s incredibly hard to cancel. The subscription may not show on your Apple Store account making you think it’s been cancelled successfully. But no. You will still get charged. You have to find their website (which you have never seen before) and somehow you have a subscription there. Even there, the cancellation process is once again designed in such a way to make you think you cancelled half way through but you have to keep looking for that tiny “confirm cancellation” button which will be hidden at the bottom of the screen. It is designed that way on purpose.

Just stay away from this app.
