Firmware Update Ruined Beoplay EX

It just keeps getting worse with my Beoplay EX headphones. They sound great! When they work. Use multipoint? Your audio will drop out constantly. Sometimes you'll have to turn them off and on completely to get audio working on any device again.

God, what I'd do to be able to easily control Bluetooth connection priority, or at least turn multipoint off. Every single firmware update makes the Beoplay EX headphones worse. I would return these if I could, but Bang and Olufsen took months to completely ruin these headphones, and now I'm stuck with this trash. More control over Bluetooth settings is a must, it would at least let us work around the worst implementation of multipoint I've ever heard. I've never been so frustrated with a Bluetooth device. Ever. It's infuriating. About Bang and Olufsen products in general. They'll break your device with a firmware update with no way to revert and you'll be stuck with a $400 paperweight.

Life-Changing

The Radio feature alone justifies buying any B&O speaker, as pricey as they are (though to a large extent you get what you pay for). But this app is a thing of wonder, especially if you use station presets on your speaker or remote so you don’t even have to open it. But when you do it’s clearly set out and easy to use. B&O’s innovative and never-bettered tone controls are a significant bonus. Can’t believe I’m actually saying this but it really is worth spending hundreds of pounds on one of their speakers to get this app. And if you any other of the multitude of radio apps out there (most of them with ads) you can now throw them all away.

Wish I could actually use…

Bought these for my Xbox and while they do connect to my Xbox and work, the app is unusable due to it not recognizing the headphones. The whole point of these specific headphones are to be able to fine tune them in the app. So I basically have an expensive pair of regular headphones right now. I know it’s not my phone because I’ve tried on a phone, IPad, my girlfriend’s phone, and a MacBook, none of them recognize the headphones. I called support and although the guy apologized several times, and assured me it wasn’t the headphones, but the app, sorry isn’t really going to get me very far. I asked for a timeframe of when I could expect the app to to updated, as you would assume that would be a pretty simple bug fix, but was told there is no expected time of when it would be fixed. I guess once I’m actually able to use the app I’ll be able to give a better review, but overall pretty disappointing!

Bluetooth Frustrations

God, what I'd do to be able to easily control Bluetooth connection priority, or at least turn multipoint off. Every single firmware update makes the Beoplay EX headphones worse, and there's no in-app options to control connections to make it a little better. Trying to just listen to music on my phone in range of one of my other previously connected devices is a huge pain. Connection frequently cuts out and the latest firmware updates have made it worse, with even muted devices causing disruption to audio. How does this get past QA?! At least give us control over connections and the ability to disable multipoint. More control over Bluetooth settings is a must. I've never been so frustrated with a Bluetooth device.

Fed up

For four months I have been trying to get multi link to work. I live in Wellington New Zealand with no local store. Fed up.

Wonderful hardware!

I just wish they would hire some top notch software developers to go along with those sound engineers and matériels scientists.

No dark mode

Great products shame about the app - please provide dark mode option for my old and tired eyes

When speaker works it’s awesome. However I have had continuous issues with it not connecting to the network - it is so frustrating and hard to resolve

Connectivity is bad

I like the sound quality. Its one of the best so far. But I dont like how its so hard to connect. Sometimes it cant even connect at all the forget device alert pops up and have to set it up again. I’ve done this more than 10 times now.

There are amazing headphones.
I had beats they just don’t sound good since I’ve had these.
I used mine exclusively for my gym visits so 3 -4 times a week about 3 hours a time.
I am known for being rough with stuff but I wear kid gloves with these and and am very gentle I have honestly dropped them twice though once on metal.
They still sound operate the same way but have tiny superficial cracks on the bits near the buttons everything sounds works 100% but I think I treated them to well to get cracks.
I’ve had them 7 months and what’s amazing is one charge lasts me 3 weeks!
Never had that I think the cracks where me because it was on to bench metal.

Can’t bang and Olufsen make a gym
Pair that won’t crack. You wouldn’t even notice the cracks there tiny but they cost me 450£

The sound is incredible I notice things in songs I’ve known for 20 years but hear new bits.
Eminems first album has him saying stuff I don’t hear in the beats.

So I have to give them 9/10
It’s 10
For looks comfort and 11 for
Sound!!!
But they need to make gym ones there’s tiny cracks that I admit might be my fault. And they won’t get worse you. Can tell the thin and don’t open at all.
That’s my honest opinion thanks for listening sorry been sectioned before so can be to truthful and sorry if it’s to much have. A great day
