  • Measurement history gone

Without any notification, all records are deleted.

    Developer Response

Dear customer, thank you for your comment. I am sorry for the inconvenience caused and please accept our most sincere apologies. If you previously had an account, your data will not be lost as long as the account is not deleted. If you use the app under the guest mode, your measurements will be stored on your phone only, the data will be lost when you uninstall the app or change mobile phones. So the measurements taken under the guest mode cannot be transferred to your new app account. You can export your previous data in a CSV file for backup by following the steps below: 1. Open the app and go to "Trends". 2.  Choose "Weight" or "Circumference" on the top and tap the clock icon in the upper right corner. 3. Press "Select Data" in the upper right corner. 4. Select the data you want to share(you can select data on different days). If you want to share all data, please click "..." in the upper right corner and select "Select all data". 5. Tap the export icon in the lower-left corner; This creates a file in CSV format and then it will prompt for your desired method of file export. We suggest you register an app account and start fresh now, so your data can be saved in your app account from now on. Please contact us by email (support@renpho.com) if you have any further questions. Sorry for the inconvenience. Sincerely, The Renpho Customer Service Team
  • Great at what if needs to do

I just need the weight from my scales, all other readings it gives is likely not actual readings. I’m fine with that. Easy to use.
  • Works just fine

I make sure it’s on a flat hard surface in the same position every time, and always do a calibration every time. I think the app has some usability issues but nothing serious, it’s good to watch your deducted bio measurements change over time.
  • Update on the app

I’ve just weighed in today on my iPhone which was good but the app on my iPad won’t update to my current weight, it’s staying at my last weigh in from five weeks ago.

I’ve signed out and back in again, uninstalled and reinstalled, updated on the App Store when it was available but it still won’t update to my latest weigh in.

    Developer Response

Dear customer, thank you for your comment. I am sorry for the inconvenience caused and please accept our most sincere apologies. In future use, please turn on Bluetooth and GPS (for Android) and open our App in advance, and step on the scale to wake up it, then the scale will automatically connect with the mobile phone. If the data do not sync to your APP account, please try the "Bluetooth Anomaly Detection" function and let me know the ERR code: 1. Open the app. 2. Go to “My Account” and select “Settings”. 3. Select “Bluetooth Anomaly Detection” and follow up on the instructions. 4. Submit the abnormality report. 5. Provide the ERR code to us. We will pass your issue to our tech team to further diagnose the problem. Tips: 1. Please measure with barefoot and wait for the scale to auto-shutoff(about 15 seconds) before stepping off. 2. Please ensure Bluetooth and GPS(For Android) are enabled on your phone; otherwise, the scale will not connect with your phone even if you open the app. 3. If you use the scale without opening the APP, the measurement will be stored in the scale, you need to wake up the scale to sync the stored data when you open the APP next time. Please contact us by email (support@renpho.com) if you have any further questions. Sorry for the inconvenience. Sincerely, The Renpho Customer Service Team
  • Doesn’t actually measure body fat

Body fat is just estimated. It’s not measured at all. I wonder if it really actually sends an electric charge through your body at all.

The date format does not conform to the global standard which is confusing and ridiculous if you want to release an app globally. America/China you are not the only country in the world! There are such things as ‘other countries’.

Dear customer, thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry for the inconvenience caused, and please accept our deepest apologies. Please be informed that our scales use bio-electrical impedance analysis(BIA) technology to offer you the data. The data obtained by BIA bio-electric measurement is closely related to the following parameters: body impedance coefficient/height/weight/age/gender.The time format of our APP is consistent with the mobile phone system. Please kindly contact us via email (support@renpho.com) if you have further questions. Sorry for the inconvenience caused. Sincerely, Renpho Customer Service Team
  • Review

This app is gold if you actually use it to measure body fat and muscle weight (along with the other metrics) over time and how you feel with regard to well being around weight health. A lot of the low reviews don’t have any extrapolation on why. I do think one can take stats too far but if you can thread the needle and understand your body is more than just fat or a black and white number on the scale then you will enjoy the measurements and change in body composition as you lift heavier, use cardio and eating habits appropriately.

  • Wifi..where are you?

I am trying to use the app with an Es-BR001 scale and the docs say that after I connect Bluetooth and take a measurement the app will ask me to connect wifi. Or, I am supposed to be able to go under device mgmt and set it up. The app never asks me about wifi and the entry in device management doesn’t have the wifi icon like they say it should and I can’t click on it. So, I can’t setup wifi and actually test this out. I’ll probably delete the app and send the scale back.

    Update:

I have completed all the steps from the developer response, but the scale never shows a wifi icon and never prompts me to enter wifi information. I have 1 user in the app and completed a BT pairing and then sync. Still nothing.

  • Reorganize data/icons

Would be nice if we could reorganize the data to an order each user would like it displayed vs your default settings.
  • Was working well enough

I’ve been using this for a while and, although the weights might not be 100% accurate, it is consistent enough to do the job. Recently however the app is saying it can not connect to the scale, and doesn’t have Bluetooth permissions. Unfortunately I’m IOS settings there is no toggle to grant Bluetooth permission for the app. I assume this is a new update, but at present the scales are useless without it.

  • Fabricated metrics & UI Needs Improvement

The 12 or so metrics besides weight are just your weight scaled & rounded a bit. They are all directly correlated. E.g. even if you weight lift and gain mostly muscle, it will say your body fat has increased because your weight increased. Having those other metrics when the scale is most definitely not capable of measuring them (e.g visceral fat & bone mass) is deceitful.

The trend graphs don’t use a linear scale. The tick marks on the x axis are each day you added a measurement which is not very useful for seeing progress over time. The x axis scale should be a linear range of dates so the space between measurements corresponds with the time between them.

Edit: They did fix the bug where when tapping the left tab, the screen slides to the right and vice versa.
