  • Base game works perfectly for me

This is my situation. I have Civ 6 at home on my PC with all expansions and I love it. I wanted to just grab the base game on mobile so I had something to do in my downtime out in the world. This plan has worked out great for me. Base game works great on my iPhone 13 Pro Max. No crashes or issues. None. Ever. I don’t plan on getting any of the expansions for the phone because I have them all already on PC. So if your like me and just need something to pull out and mess around with on your downtime or waiting for something you will love this game and it will work great for you. I love that it never harasses you with ads or trying to get you to buy more packs or upgrade. It never bothers you ever. Pay ten bucks and have unfettered fun. I have never found a mobile game I have enjoyed. I knew I already loved Civ decided to try it and it turned out wonderful. So if your situation is like mine and you just need someone quick fun. You love Civ and I can’t speak for expansions packs on mobile but if you don’t want any like me this will be a great choice.

  • LOC_ Issues (like everyone else)

I’ve been happily playing this game for over a year but now it is plagued with the LOC_ gibberish issue for the last several weeks. I see so many reviews that mention this bug and I wonder why there has not been any developer response? Please have the courtesy to let us know that you are aware of this problem and you have a solution in work. When will there be a solution?

  • Please fix it

I’ve played Civilization since the original game. I love that I can play it on my iPad now. In fact everything was great until a December 2022 update caused gibberish programming text to start showing up in certain screens of the game, often overlaying other text. Please undo whatever you did in the recent update. Test it better next time too.

  • Mostly Impressed, BUT…

I just bought Civ VI with Rose and Fall and Gathering Storms expansion packs on my iPad. Overall, I’m impressed by how well it’s running! It isn’t draining my battery too quickly, and it isn’t lagging horribly (although I’m still in the early-ish stages of the game). The main issue I’m finding so far is that many text boxes have not loaded correctly, and instead read “LOC_…” This has mostly been an issue for the World Congress, but it’s also been a problem for several Governor promotions. This bug is making me play certain portions of the game blindly, which is quite frustrating. Overall happy with the purchase, but please fix these bugs!

  • Beautiful Port to mobile

This game is a classic must have for turn-based strategy fans. The mobile version is the complete game with some small interface changes. The 60 turn sample is nice for new players, but be prepared to pay full price for this.
  • Software issues

Great game, but your latest expansion, with Lincoln as a leader has some text issues in various locations, the comma screen for other cigs, the in screen to name 2. Other wise plays great.
  • FIX THE GAME!!!!!!! WHY MAKE SOMETHING THAT DOESNT WORK

I play civ literally so much in my PC I own all DLCs and frontier pass but can’t transfer anything to mobile to show I paid for it?! But wait so I bought it in the phone too and frontier pass go to get on the game and nothing will install for DLCs this is frustrating fix this soon or give my money back I have emailed and no responses from your team and I feel scammed and will not settle fix what you put out and promises in game I paid money for the game and content!!! Also it’s so latent and slow I have the newest iPhone so it’s not the phone before it’s said!!

  • Comment on review above with bug & other issue

Great franchise, been playing since civ rev for Xbox but I got a qualm with this last weekend. With the bug with promotion/relations with other leaders I deleted the app & redownloaded it to hopefully fix the issue. Sadly now that I have redownloaded the DLCs I’ve previously purchased are not downloading on to my phone. (Yes I have storage)

Also the fact that you can’t log into your account if you’ve purchased on your phone
on a computer is completely ridiculous. If it’s a 2K account why can’t it work on both?

  • Overall Good

I love Civ so this is a welcome purchase but there are some bugs with the game. I have repeatedly found that I could not make units due to not having niter, but the game lets me upgrade units to musketman even though I still do not have niter. I also cannot make the trebuchets anymore but I also cannot make bombard because of this lack of niter. Unsure what to make of it and if the dev could tell me if this is a bug or if I’m just missing something it would be greatly appreciated.

  • Now more mobile friendly

I recently tried this game again and it now seems to remember that I was actually playing and doesn’t go through the load screen every single time I switch to another app. I managed to complete the 40+ turns of the demo and made the leap to purchase for $10. I’m still skeptical about the builders but now that I can actually read about how they work on the web and switch back to the app I’ll give it a try.

    ORIGINAL REVIEW:

I’ve owned every civilization 1-5, this was my first foray into VI. I am playing on an iPhone. I’m only 5 turns in and I just don’t want to play anymore. This may be a fine game on a computer with a large screen and mouse but it’s just not a good concept for mobile. One of the first issues is that the game takes 60+ seconds to boot up. I quickly swapped over to a web browser to look something up and when I switched back, it initiated the boot up sequence again - with no way to skip it. The next is that for some weird reason they changed workers (for no good reason) and they are no longer automatable. This means mega micromanaging. Poor design choice overall, but especially painful on an iPhone. Not going to pay for this one for the phone, my time is more valuable than that.
