  • Great for starters.....but

I have just began painting and building my Warhammer 40K miniatures and as I was looking for the Ork Deff Dreads, I wasn’t able to find any ideas on what colors to start painting them. It appears to me that there aren’t a lot of Ork Mechs and vehicles within the app. I do still love the app and will continue to use it for my current and future armies, but would like to see an updated listing including more Orks.

  • Many useful features- only one thing missing

This app is very useful for model painters who use GW paints as I do. The guides are helpful for new painters, the shading examples are well done, and the interface is intuitive and easy to use. It would be nice if there were model examples, but hopefully those will be included in updates.

The one thing that keeps me from giving it 5 stars is the lack of a system to save custom schemes for my own models and armies. It would be excellent to be able to take a picture of a model I painted and save it along with the colors I used. I would also like to be able to save potential schemes I am planning. For instance, if I am considering starting a Seraphon army, it would be useful to save several schemes as I am deciding.

  • Great App. Expansion needed.

While the app being free makes my opinions a moot point, the app functions in fantastic fashion, allowing you to scan colors and paints and other objects even to color match or find how to apply basic techniques to achieve a desired effect.

Cataloguing your paints and checking if you have that one obscure edge hilight color when you are home or on the go, and wishlisting it so you can snag it the next time you go down to Warhammer or a FLGS is fantastic as well.

What I really feel is lost on this app is the exclusion of a projects tab, where you could make your own list of paints you own and name them after projects, so when you are popping between one paint project to another, you can keep tabs and not go batty on which paints you were using.

  • Must-have app for using Citadel paints

This app is super handy for keeping an inventory of my paints. My favourite feature is the colour selection tool that provides the paints needed for a certain colour scheme. I can easily find the colours I want, add the paints I don’t have to a Wishlist and then head to my gaming shop with an easy list of what I need to buy.

The only feature I wish they’d add is a list of colour schemes that can be built from the paints in your inventory. For example, I didn’t realise I had all the colours for ‘Pink Fungus’ until I stumbled across the scheme while browsing. If I could access a list of what I could combine from the paints in my collection then I think this app would be perfect.

  • Essential...

Started painting the GW miniatures again after a 25 year break. This app is absolutely essential I think - really helped me understand the layering / shading system and track which paints I need and have got. One new suggestion - would you be able to incorporate the 360 degree images of the miniatures from the website into the app? Would love to be able to rotate around them. Also - alternative schemes for some of them (like I’ve found in White Dwarf) might be good. I would gladly pay for this app.

  • Fantastic App with great potential!

This is incredibly useful for planning out an army color scheme! It shows what paints you need and how they get applied onto the models without being a total replacement for the Warhammer TV painting tutorials. That being said (Assuming the devs look at reviews) I have a few suggestions! It would be really nice to view all the paints individually, grouped the way they are on the GW website. This would make comparing shades easier when trying to make custom paint jobs and would give a better idea of what color is specifically on what part of a the sample that is displayed currently in the app.
In short, a very useful app with great potential for future implementations!

  • Amazing app!

I love the tutorials and the inventory function. I would love to someday see a custom color scheme option one day (hopefully soon!) where we could chose a model and input our own color scheme to it with the different techniques. Wouldn't have to "show" the scheme on the model, but having the list and information would make this app perfect to me!

  • A useful tool that requires some upgrades

I use it a lot as a paint reference, it is very convenient. I give it 4 stars because it lacks a zoom in feature. Unless you have a big screen phone, you can barely see the details on miniatures, especially those large ones. Even better would be a 360 view with zoom - I would kiss a Nurgling on the lips if you decide to add that feature.

  • Amazing for all skill levels

They have knocked it out of the park with this app. Being able to see how colors will look based on a few colors and techniques is such an amazing feature. I love using this app when determining how to paint a new color or style I'm less familiar with. It also gives a good sense of other colors you might not think to try.

I only have two minor issues.
1.) I wish you could sort the paint inventory/wishlist based on colors (instead of alphabetically) similar to how they are sorted when you go buy them from a FLGS. Their display rack is so helpful, and being able to see the colors in triplet and around similar colors is helpful when selecting the right styles.
2.) I wish they would display some of the colors on things that aren't the backpacks. I would like to see all the flesh tones on an arm or leg so I could get a better sense of what they look like.
