  • Ugly App - Look elsewhere

    I have several Thinkware cams but this “elite” one should be passed on. Don’t buy. To say the support app is terrible is an understatement. I give up. Will attempt to return the camera but have had it awhile before Intried installing so not sure they’ll take it back. Anything with an app is no good since these companies can’t seem to make one that actually works as they describe. Simplicity should be the rule and this is anything but no will not hook to Wi-Fi. A real bummer. Again…I’d look elsewhere.

  • Useless

    Had this 800 for 1 year. Always drops off Wi-Fi, it’s a pain to try to reconnect to either Wi-Fi or hotspot. Can’t imagine having an accident and telling ems to wait an hour or so to connect this cam to the cloud. Not going to sell this dash cam, just going to toss it out, don’t want someone else to have the same issues. I strongly do not recommend at any level

  • Excellent software

    I like being able to control my camera via this software
    Love the camera I have the U1000 excellent quality
  • Frozen on retry

    This app needs work. It is not user friendly and keeps getting frozen on retry when trying to find the vehicle. It is very frustrating and I do not recommend it as it currently is 👎.
  • Q800 Pro continual issues

    The app does not stay connected to my dash cam. In my months of owning this cam I have only successfully managed to connect twice - each time taking thirty minutes just to do so. It will not stay connected via its wifi or my hot spot. A firmware update just wiped my connection and now refuses to connect.

    I wasted money on this camera, app is almost useless. I'm rarely this frustrated with tech as I work in the IT field and can usually navigate around.

  • App crashes continuously

    I have my iPhone updated to the latest OS and the app doesn’t even open. It just continuously crashes.
    I purchased dash cams for $3k, the least you can do is provide a decent app.
  • Doesn’t connect

    The devs need to put in more effort to maintain their app. I’m sure it’s very functional once you get connected, but my new phone won’t connect at all to the camera. I had some trouble with my previous phone too but it did eventually connect after much trial and error.

    Unacceptable for a dash cam with no viewscreen; if you have to rely on an app it should at least work.

  • Too many bugs to be usable

    Dash cam is great but the app is horrendous. Constant connection issues where either the phone or camera will drop connection after 5 minutes of use. App doesn’t show a thumbnail of the file so your left scrolling aimlessly through file names trying to find a time close to when you think an event occurred. Honestly you’d be better off setting your camera up and then just delete the app and keep a micro SD card to lightning adapter and just browse it through finder

    Please create a thumbnail view when browsing files over Wi-Fi. Also having the timestamp in the file name in addition to the date would be great. Thank you!
  • Lots of software problems

    I have the dual channel F800 Pro installed and have continuous problems with software malfunctions. Very rarely holds a connection with the wifi when trying to access files, constantly disconnects.

    Also the software is very basic with limited functionality. Cloud is non-existent!! I have no idea why they refer to “Cloud” in their marketing. You don’t have access to any cloud related options other than car location which I have never been able to get to work.

    Most premium cars have screens with solar coating which causes a lot of reflection in the videos - something that can be remedied by simply applying a polarised filter to the lens - not something Thinkware thought about !!

    Additionally recording is NOT continuous. There is a 3-5 second gap between each recording and this just happened to be the moment someone reversed into me so my dash cam captured their approach and their leaving but not the bump!! Absolutely bloody hopeless!!

    I’m stuck with it for now but will have to replace it with something that records continuously and has better functionality. Expensive mistake. Highly recommend you avoid this product and buy something else.

    One last thing…. One UK user in these reviews mentioned how appalling UK support is for this product and that has been my experience also. Developer response was to suggest they “reach out” to customer support and gave a foreign phone number!!! Really…???? How ignorant can this company possibly be?
