The poor reviews dont lie
While fundamentally this app has great features the wifi/hotspot connectivity on my flagship U1000 is a major issue after having just updated to the latest firmware.
I was able to connect to wifi fairly easily but the hotspot was a MAJOR pain. Lots of drops.
I was able to live view and upload a video to the cloud (took 4 mins) and ultimately to my device which was instant.
I am going to give this a couple days of use and see it is acceptable for what i need it for but as of now im considering it a return.

Great Q800 pro let down with the app
Just had the Q800 dual camera installed, great camera with lots of options, the problem is the app it’s not user friendly at all, not able to connect to my WiFi in my car, tried to register over the cloud which I couldn’t get to work, then keeps dropping out of the hot spot not reliable, the other options like the geo fencing and push notifications don’t work, so very disappointed not with the camera but the app, please update as nowadays it’s how everyone is getting information online.

Just steal it U1000
Incredible work with the camera quality and audio; however, it’s frustrating - more importantly, dishonest - that I can’t live view whenever I please. The WiFi has an embarrassing range and I shouldn’t have to run a hotspot. Just make it work proper. When I drop a pretty penny I expect the product to deliver...
Please explain to me the benefit of having a parking mode feature that’s impossible to view unless you’re literally sitting in the car waving your phone around waiting for it to maybe connect. What good does it do if your car is stolen? Or when someone breaks in to steal the expensive cameras that you purchased for that exact reason and you have no footage to show for it because you weren’t within 6 inches of the device?Show lessmyfirstyelp

Hello There, The U1000's Remote Live View can be viewed from anywhere as long as the Dash Cam is connected to a Mobile Hotspot Device. This also allows you to monitor the location of the vehicle and receive notifications and videos if an impact occurs. As of late, the app crashes immediately upon opening. I’ve tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling it. The problem persists. Please fix this ASAP.
It would be nice if they did a firmware update to where the camera first powers on, it would automatically start the WiFi process and auto connect without having to be going back and forth to connect the camera to my phone.Show lessSearing Demise
Barely works
Connecting the dash cam to an iPhone is painfully slow and will most likely result in a failure and needing to try 3 more times. Recent firmware update available and downloaded to phone, pop up says do you want to upgrade “yes” starts the process and fa200 immediately says disconnected from smart phone. No matter what cannot keep phone connected to perform the firmware update. Terrible product. Downloading dash footage is a painfully slow

This app makes the cam look like a cheap end cam but it’s not com on think wear sort it out no good having a fantastic cam and a rubbish app come sort it or you may end up loosing a lot of customers to other manufacturers think about itEric 0000001

Get ready to push the same button 15 times to get it to finally work. Also be prepared for extremely basic functions like viewing and exporting video to your phone becoming an absolute pain. This app operates like a high school project for students who are interested in coding. It is incredibly inefficient and frustrating to use. Cannot believe an app was released with THIS many bugs. To whoever the developer or development team is, PLEASE get these issues fixed, it really takes away from the experience of using the dash cam.Show lessTeeJayLew
Nice Camera - Terrible App
This is my 3rd and probably last Thinkware camera system. I love the camera, recording options, resolution, etc...then unfortunately comes the App. Most of the time it won’t connect with iPhone or iPad and if it does it crashes or the communication times out. I have the F770, F800 and F800 Pro all with the rear camera set up. This is way too much money invested to have these kinds of problems.Show lesstitanium_50
DONT BUY THINKWARE
The app is useless, the ADAS is lame and the cloud features pretty much non-existent.
All the previous reviews suggest they simply do not care about updating the app which is the control centre of the dashcam.
Really regret buying the U1000 now, and can't even return it without taking a hit! Stay away from Thinkware, you have been warned.Show less3zzy

I agree this is very expensive not to be able tobe connected to thinkware hotspot at all times to access cloud features at all times from anywhere hope to see features in future updates please revise your app if my car has a hot spot in it I should be able to connect anywhere but you have to push WiFi button every time you want to connect to app on cameraShow lessRcccdm
