Excellent app and service
I don’t know how they are able to offer delivery for medication for free but I’m so grateful for this service! Not only is delivery free they make sure you get the lowest rate and when to fill to make sure insurance will cover the most.
They also include a premium piece of caramel in every delivery! A teaspoon of sugar makes the medication go down I guess. My favorite has been the spicy chili flavor; odd but yummy.
All delivery drivers have been competent and respectful.
As a wheelchair user, before and during the pandemic this service is such a lifesaver. It gives me back time spent going to the pharmacy.

Very dissapointing
I had high hopes for this service, but… their customer service is abysmally poor. It’s like Walgreens-level bad. Constant miscommunication. Constant spammy messages demanding I refill prescriptions. Weird last-minute calls to “confirm” deliveries I’ve clearly ordered and already paid for. Customer service people who are not the least bit invested in being helpful or proactive in solving problems.
To be clear: I’m not commenting on a single occurrence. Dozens of interactions are informing my review.
Also, they don’t accept GoodRx discounts, and have much higher retail prices than Walgreens and other corporate pharmacies.
A “full services pharmacy” it is not. Just a typical Tech service, no more no less. When your food delivery service messes up, you might end up hungry and cranky; but when your pharmacy messes up, you could end up very sick. So, keep that in mind — they have exactly the same sort of business model as the food delivery services (including the acceptable error rate and tolerance for losing customers). Not cool.
All that being said, if you have simple prescriptions and never need to speak with anyone, I suppose it’s all good. But heaven forbid you actually need to speak with someone or encounter a hiccup — this service isn’t for you.

Ease, convenience & salted caramel
No more racing to get to the pharmacy before they close or get there only to wait in line for what seems like an hour. Alto delivers all your medications directly to your door and usually comes with a delicious piece of salted caramel. They even take care of all the back and forth with your doctors office. Always on time when they say they’ll arrive and the window of time is short at only three hours unlike the cable or utility company. And always a courteous and professional delivery person. Now, if we could get banks and the post office to figure out their business model to improve convenience and efficiency. Until then, the pharmacy problems of the past are solved with Alto!

Rocky start but amazing service in general
I love this service. Started using it years ago and back then I had a lot of issues sending prescriptions to them, but they’ve worked it all out. My fiancé regularly has to fight with CVS about his prescriptions and pay extra for delivery but mine have been so easy. Before using Alto again during covid I had a really hard time getting my meds from CVS too, so much so that it was only a few months ago I was crying at the cvs pharmacy counter because I couldn’t get my ADHD meds. This service is wonderful, do not wait to download!!

Relief
We’ve been struggling through using a mail away Rx company. Using Alto is a complete relief. The ordering process is easy, the pricing is clear, it’s quick.
I had spoken to my mail order Rx company 6+x times within a 2week period, each time being told that they were ‘sorry that they had drug the order out & now that I was fully run out of my Rx, that they would overnight it to me’.
The 2nd time I was told this, I asked “when will this arrive?” “Oh!…24-48 hours on the pharmacists desk & then sent to the warehouse, & then over-nighted, as long as it wasn’t a Friday, in which case it would be sent Monday, expect it Tuesday.”
My Dr set me up with Alto, my Rx arrived within 6 hours, delivered to my door!!!!-within hours!!!! at my door!!!!

Everyone needs this
Incredible user experience. Completely takes away the hassle of dealing with meds. Alto does all the work to get your prescriptions transferred from other pharmacies, get prior authorization from insurance, and request refills. The best feature is the in-app messaging, where you can ask any questions and have a person (not a bot) answer you within a few hours. I have never had an issue they couldn’t solve. Every time I see people waiting in line at Walgreens I want to tell them about this app!

Alto makes my life so much easier!
Not only has this service saved me time stopping off at the pharmacy to pick up, or sometimes wait for, a prescription, but it kept me safe during the pandemic with contact-free drop-off’s! Not only that, the app is super easy to use and the responses I get to my questions are always quick and friendly. Unlike past pharmacies that often told me “You’re going to have to contact your dr’s office.” Alto communicates effectively and directly with my doctor and handles refills so I don’t have to. And don’t get me started on those caramels!

Easy!
I think I finally have found a pharmacy that knows what they are doing, without being left on hold while they find out what the should already know. As a person that lived through the ‘80s and ‘90s pharmacists had a lot on their lists of info to keep up with. And in 2020, this is such a relief to know that everything can be ordered on my time, knowing that everything will be taken care of in a fast an efficient way. I am so happy that my pcp at Stanford alerted me to this modern app! Thank you all!

Proof there’s a higher power
This is the only app I have consistently told friends about because of the insane amount of value it has added to my life. It used to be so painful to run out of a prescription and have to rush to the pharmacy. Hasn't happened since I've started using Alto. So easy to schedule same-day (free) deliveries, reminds me to order my repeat prescriptions at the moment when my insurance will cover the refill, supplies me with delicious caramels...it’s like having a pharmacological guardian angel. I guess the only thing that would improve my experience would be if Alto were available nationwide! I’m thinking of moving and one of my first thoughts was “what am i going to do without alto?!?”

Excellent, cheerful service, well-designed app!
I’ve used this pharmacy and the app for several years now. I haven’t ever had a pharmacy deliver before, didn’t think any would deliver to my slightly backwater small town and certainly didn’t think they’d do it for no additional charge! Well, surprise; Alto will.
And this app makes the whole process so easy to request refills and get them delivered – – they even find discounts for medications that my insurance company balks at. Without exception, any rep I’ve spoken to on the phone or delivery driver I’ve experienced have been warm, cheerful and helpful, and I love that I’m always kept up to date on the progress of the prescriptions, from their request sent to my doctor for a renewal thru the filling and then status of the delivery and estimated time of arrival of the courier within the delivery window. What’s NOT to like?
