Painful and unnecessary
I loaded this app at the requirement of my provider. It is used as a way to limit patient interaction and multiple your notifications. If you want to know your results or have a question you have to use the app to relay those questions (no personal contact) and your caregivers don’t have to deal with us pesky patients.
You get an email that tells you you have a message so you know to go sign in to retrieve. You are required to open each one, scroll through it and allow it to be open for at least 10 minutes before it registers as read. I’m literate and therefore it does not take me 10 minutes to read “you have an appointment tomorrow, date at xyz location at a time.”
However if I don’t wait the allotted time it continues to display as unread. Since I now have 7-8 “unread” messages I’m looking at over an hour to clean up what is past, or what I could get from looking at the schedule. You are also required to do the same for all test results. What I need is usually in the first few lines or I can scan to it. But again my time is of little importance and I’m held hostage for the mandatory 10+ minutes. If I leave the screen to answer the phone or a text then time clock starts over.
Poor programming and no respect for patient time or personal connection. I’m looking for new provider just because of this nuisance. I want a doctor not an AI intermediary.
