  • Never works

    They won’t resister my credit card…so lame
  • Stupidly complicated

    This is a wildly complicated app for the function it serves. It is also useless for an iPhone. If you have a Pasmo card installed, you can’t use the wallet function (and can’t link the IC card easily since number is hidden): when you try to scan the QR code, it blocks you if Pasmo activated. Also, you can’t pick up a paper ticket without a password that the reservation system is supposed to email. (It is 2022; no system should rely on email.) Twice it didn’t come. Once I missed my train because I couldn’t make a connection quick enough.

    They need to throw this code away and start again.

  • Works perfect after struggling for a few hours

    Good app once you get it working. Had to search Google on the issue with USAA cards. Surprise, there is no issue. USAA cards are set up for 3dsecure but you just have to keep attempting the credit card input section until it finally works.
  • There seems to be 2 different types of accounts

    It seems there’s 2 different kinds of account based on how you created it.

    If you have created an account on the web, you cannot use them from the app.
  • Easy to use

  • Does not work with the Japan Rail Pass

    I was looking forward to reserving my seats online but soon realized that you can not reserve seats through the app if you have the Japan Rail Pass.
  • Useless if you have a JR Pass

    Cannot believe that this app doesn’t allow making reservations for JR Pass holders. In fact there doesn’t seem a system-wide JR app that allows to make reservation. Quite surprising for a country that seems so technologically advanced. We shall instead queue up at a JR office......
  • I do not need a new membership ...

    I am already a member of this online registration system (pc version) and have my credit card registered before having this app downloaded. I just wish I could have an option to login using my existing account instead of having to register for a new one. On top of that, it’s not letting me use my credit card even when I tried to sign up for a new account because my credit card has been registered with the pc version already. Also, since there’s no way to sign up for a new account using this app without inputting my credit card information, I basically just cannot use this app unless I have another credit card or have my existing pc version account canceled first and then sign up for a new one using this app. 😭

  • Unable to login

    Every time I try and log in it shows an error screen saying there is an operation failure and the system automatically logged me out. I even tried to create a new account, deleted and re-downloaded the app, but nothing helped. Very very frustrating.
  • Pain

    As mentioned below it is a pain. Japan isn’t really known for making international apps so it is a bit expected.
