Liars!

I was given a list of banks that they do not except and my bank was not on that list. I tried to borrow and at the last minute they said they can’t accept my bank. But you have no problem taking what I previously owed from my bank account. Stay away from them. Lies. Lies and more lies. These are the ones they said they do not accept and Varo is not on the list: Banks that Vola doesn't support: Albert, BankMobile VIBE, Chime, Current, Founders Federal Credit Union, GO2bank, MoneyLion - RoarMoney, Oxygen, PNC, PayPal, SoFi, State Employees' Credit Union (NC), T-Mobile MONEY, Travis Credit Union, Venmo - Personal.

They let me go through everything showing that I could possibly be connected. At the last minute they said: Varo Bank Bank is not supported at this time, please use a different bank account.

As said before Varo is not on the list they don’t accept! Had I known they not take it, I would not have paid them back. Scammers!

Hello, the bank connections are provided by a third party, which is also one of the largest transaction providers in the nation. We do not have full control of this part of the process, but we are working with them to support more financial institutions. We also apologize for this inconvenience.

Know what you’re getting into…

Please, know that downloading this app is risky— from the quality of service you’ll get to the kind of advance you’ll have access to. If you need immediate support, do not rely on their claim written at the bottom of all of their automatic email responses: it is NOT guaranteed that they will reply to your email within 24 hours. When I finally received an email response from their team almost two days later, the team member hadn’t fully read my email to understand what I was asking for and so my issue was never resolved. I never tried their phone number because everyone who has left a review about their customer service phone line within the past year said they never answer the phone. If you pay the $20 subscription fee, there’s a chance you can get about $200 of an advance, but know that it’s a gamble because they base that off of a “score” they give you, and it seems a bit difficult to figure out how they determine that score. If you’re having a rough time with finances (trust me— I’ve been there) and looking for an app with service and services you can trust, just know what you’re getting into when downloading this app.

One of the better apps out there

I’ve been using this app for sometime and it’s really helpful that they have different tier levels. The money comes quickly and it goes direct to my account of my choosing. i’ve been using it for about almost 2 years now and it’s never any issues. It’s definitely convenient and the fact that you get at least up to 30 days to pay it back is way more convenient than every two weeks on a regular pave scale. Definitely would recommend it to anyone who is financially responsible, and just needs to get over the hump.

Misleading

Don't use this app if you need cash advance quickly this is a scam. First after submitting you will get offered an amount to borrow that is significantly less than what is advertised "up to 300". Than you must pay the monthly subscription fee which in my case was around $8.99. Once I paid this I was offered $50-$80 but if I would like to get the money instantly, you have to apply for a CARD!! Even after doing this, you still have to wait for the card in the mail before you are Eligible for instant transfers. Funny how there are many other apps that work is similar way that don't make you apply for their debit card to get instant cash. Stay away from these scammers. Funny you take the subscription fee instantly but when it comes to withdrawing the cash than you must wait days.

Customer service

They are excellent. I’ve had a couple advance apps to raise my credit and what not and the Vola has always been there for me. They started out with a low amount, and I gradually went out and I truly appreciate them because they extend the due dates and repayment dates . They also are very prompt with response . I could go on, but those two are the most of explaining how they are amazing than any other app I used for many years. I’ve only gotten maybe less than a year ago and they’ve done nothing but remarkable things and very much appreciate that.

Don’t use this app!

When I first signed up for Vola, they were very helpful. Then, there were issues with subscription fees, and other matters. My bank (Bank of America) red flagged, Vola and others due to repetitive fees and withdrawals from my account that weren’t consistent.

Although I did get a loan and help from Vola, Bank of America decided to shut down my account due to fraudulent activity. They issued me another account and assured me that there would be no issues like this again. Vola took back the loan from that account after I provided my banking information and card information, and then they didn’t approve me afterward. They kept saying that Bank of America did not qualify under the requirements even after I explained that Bank of America closed my account due to a fraudulent situation. I would not recommend using these people, and their emails took forever and no one has personally contacted me on the phone. It’s a waste of time. Don’t do it.

Hello, my apologies for the inconvenience. It appears that you cancelled your tier subscription and attempted to resubscribe to our services after adding your new bank account, resulting in these issues. To be eligible for our services, the bank must be 3 or more months older as per our basic eligibility requirement. If you hadn't cancelled your subscription on the app, you would have been able to continue using our services with your new bank account.

I wish I could give no stars. This company is so backwards. No one answers calls or emails. No way to contact them in a consumer friendly way. They sent the advance to an old account even though I contacted them to change it. I obviously never received the advance since it went to a closed account. I finally by some miracle got someone on a call and all they said was there’s an active advance so nothing they can do about it. The guy said he is the only person available by phone even though this is a large company? Feels like a scam. DO NOT USE. I have filed a complaint with BBB as I still have not received a single response in 3 days. They don’t care about you and if they try to charge me for the advance next month, I will be taking them to court. I literally just wanted my account cancelled and they won’t let me as they think I owe money. I never received an advance. THIEVES.

Doesn’t even work, complete waste of time!

I waited several weeks because it couldn’t get me in on my current pay period. Fair enough, but now it’s saying my bank doesn’t even qualify. My bank account has been active for a year now, I make frequent purchases, I make well above the threshold asked for, and it’s a supported bank, yet I still can’t get a money advancement. Even if I did, it’s still a scam simply due to the tier system and the non-existent customer service. This app honestly needs to be taken down or overhauled because it’s absolute junk and takes up space for nothing.

Edit: My account is plenty active enough. I make a purchase at least every other day on my year old bank account, $2K deposited monthly, as well as bills I pay every single month. If that’s not enough, I don’t know what is.

Your bank should pass multiple basic requirements apart from the average monthly balance and how old your bank account is. I won't be able to tell you the exact reason, but maybe your bank doesn't have enough transactions from the past couple of months, so you face this issue. It would help if you try connecting to a different bank to see if that works, or you can try connecting to the same bank after a month when you have enough transactions. I'm very sorry for this inconvenience.
