  • Buggy

    Still wildly frustrating, even after the latest firmware update. Disconnects from phone even 10 feet away. When it is connected, have to “minimize” and reopen to refresh the temperatures.
  • Nice app; good support

    I like the app and the hardware. I have run into some of the same bugs described by others, but I’ve found that the development team is quick to respond to my questions and so far everything seems to be working with the latest version.
  • Not Perfect, but awesome and keeps getting better.

    The GrillEye Pro is a great BBQ accessory.

    Some of the functionality has been clunky, like wifi connectivity and temperature graphs, but its core function of temperature monitoring is rock solid.

    Firmware updates have improved the wifi and the latest 1.24 update seems to make the graphs actually work.

    I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another one of these devices for someone who was getting into BBQ.
  • Latest update won’t recognize probes

    The previous version had graph issues. This one won’t even recognize that probes are connected even though the device reads temp. Completely unusable now.
  • Works well, wish there was watch support.

    I really enjoy this hardware/software. With the update to cloud based WiFi, it works wherever I am on the property. The only thing I wish was that I could run it from my Apple Watch so I wouldn’t have to keep pulling my phone out of my pocket.
  • Do not use this trash

    It disconnects constantly and seldom works properly. You’ll end up checking your protein more often due to distrust.

    It’s a shame because the thermometer isn’t bad. The app is straight trash. Whoever was in charge of the app needs to be fired and somehow removed from society.
  • Awful product

    This product over promises and under-delivers. It says my WiFi password is incorrect, constantly disconnects even when in Bluetooth range and is not worth the headaches. Just a terrible product overall. Was really excited about. Thank god for Costco’s return policy. Do not buy this thermometer!
  • Hardware great! Software needs work still but a lot better.

    I got the GrillEye Pro at Costco and it didn’t have the update that enables WiFi yet. It worked great when I was in Bluetooth range. Now with the cloud update, I don’t have to be in range which is better but the graphing function no longer works. That was a super great feature for those of us using it on a smoker. The graphing was helpful so I could log my smoker temps over time and make adjustments but now, when I try to view the graph, it tries to update continuously and never actually loads a graph. The graphing before would also load previous cooks as part of the current graph which was really annoying. Can there be a way to purge old graphs and only have the current cook displayed? Of course it should have the ability to actually load a graph too. Would love if the dev team could consider this for a future update. This is a really nice piece of gear and despite the issues, I would buy it again.

Please update your device to the latest firmware and your problem will be solved. - [x] ​​Please go to GrillEye PRo app - Settings - Check Update - Update. - [x] Upon updating firmware, if it is not connected after 4-5 seconds to the cloud , power off / on the device. If this does not work as well, they bring your device close to GrillEye and do the following: - [x] Please go to GrillEye Pro Settings, and press the trash bin icon on the top right corner. - [x] Go to GrillEye Pro Settings - WiFi - Install your WiFi network again. - [x] Quit the app, power off your device, power it on and re open the app. If for some reason while trying to update your firmware you are getting a network error, please do the following: - [x] On your smartphone activate personal hot spot. - [x] After enabling the personal hot spot , open the GrillEye Pro app and change the wifi network using the hot spot WiFi network. - [x] Update your firmware until your reach 1.131. - [x] Then add your normal WiFI network to the GrillEye Pro settings, quit and re open the app and you should be connected. - [x] ​NOTE: Before any update, make sure your device is fully charged.   • Great so far

    Set-up and updating the unit was straight forward and easy. No major problems encountered like some other reviewers. A few quick Bluetooth drops, but nothing major.

    Great experience so far! The app has some cool features, like timers per probe so you can time flips perfect. I particularly like the graph over time so I can examine what happened over the cooking period. I’d recommend this unit to anyone looking for a good smoker temp unit.
  • LOVE IT

    Very straight forward and easy to use.
    Works great and very easy to customize for special temps or cooker temps to monitor grate temp.
    Customer support is OUTSTANDING!!
    My only issue was resolved with excellent customer support to diagnose and suggest actions that immediately fixed the only issue I had (quit switching to Wi-Fi when I got out of Bluetooth range).
    FWIW, this was all I had to do to get everything functioning perfectly again.
    ​1. Delete the app, shutdown & restart your iphone, then download/install app again
    ​2. Reboot the device by pressing the power button for 10 seconds
    ​3. Open the device and pair it with the app
