  • Cameras are great! App needs work

    Love the cameras but the app is painful to navigate. Took entirely too long to figure out how to share the system with my husbands phone. Having zero luck getting audio on the app. I just have a video of each camera, but no audio. Have turned the mute button off as I have read it comes muted from the factory. Still no luck. Also, I get notifications about 70 times a day for a car in my driveway but it’s my car that has been sitting still all day. Not sure why that keeps happening, but it’s SUUUUUPER annoying. Overall, happy with the camera quality just has a few bugs.

  • Ok for the money

    I enjoy the cameras for security purposes but find they don’t capture persons immediately and at times might get a glimpse is all , be better if they captured images or video right from start , picture quality is excellent .

  • Not optimised for ipad

    I have a N841 NVR and this app works as long as you have enabled P2P setting on the NVR box.

    However, this app still gets the footage via the Internet instead of accessing the box via the intranet. These days its asking for trouble when you do not have the option to keep the device off the internet entirely.

    Also it is not optimised for the iPad which is very unfortunate.

    On the plus side it works (+1 star), its interface is tidy but could still be improved (+1 star), and has two step verification for access (+1 star),

    Although the supposed security and privacy is only useful as long as the company itself does not abuse your privacy. This depends on whether Dahua (a blacklisted parent company) allows Lorex (which is now a fully owned subsidiary but still headquartered in Canada) to operate independently and within the bounds of Canadian law and Apple’s own terms and conditions.

  • Excellent software 2020

    Bought two Wi-fi LNC camera models. Easy set up, works well but not in comparison to stand alone loft wired hard drive systems. Night vision is excellent for the money. I worked on yacht that bought a Flir camera for £49,000 so £100 is a bargain.

    These are great for Uni, temporary accommodation or those on a budget (is) if you have the money spent £1000+ for a proper alarm linked security system with hawk eye walk round premises set up.

    Negative: the camera appears to be made In China or it has been copied by IMOU. Beware of those immigrations without software backing.

    FLIR old to Lorex by Flir new. Yes I went through the epic wait between hardware replacement which took a long time mainly because Maplin UK closed and nowhere was able to replace the camera.

  • Does not connect to camera

    I got this camera for a replacement of a FLIR device. That one was hard to set up and the app was clumsy. At one point the app was discontinued (six months after purchase). This meant the whole FLIR camera was useless.
    Now the new camera: The camera has its own wifi hotspot that the user is supposed to connect to. This doesn’t work with an iPhone 7+ or iPhone X.
    The setup process is so excruciatingly frustrating that I will steer away from all Lorex products forever.
    Luckily I hadn’t installed the new device on the wall yet, and found out from the start that this product is junk.
