  • The only productivity soundscapes app that really works.

This isn’t a paid review and neither is to your generic soundscapes app with forest or river sounds in the background. The ethos behind this app is to lead by sound design and exploit the human auditory senses. The soundscapes are by pioneer electronic musicians like R Hawtin, Laraaji, James Blake who know more than a thing or two about designing sound and creating some this generations most shape shifting music. As a lifelong electronic music fan, I can assure you will achieve whatever you set out to do because the soundscapes itself are top quality and researched. The team behind this are also people who know their music which is why I’d recommend it over anything else.

Also please bring in Moritz Von Oswald, Daniel Bell, Ricardo Villalobos, Shackleton,Larry Heard, Ben Klock, Oneohtrix Point Never, Autechre, Skee Mask, Venetian Snares, Boards of Canada, Amon Tobin, and Squarepusher on board.

  • Wanted to love it.

I truly wanted to fall in LOVE this beautiful app. I am / was entranced by its didn’t because it’s sleek and stunning graphics and I hoped to instill it into my nightly routine, and potentially beyond! Unfortunately it’s just not as easy to use as I need it to be in terms of figuring out the functionality, options and settings. Not visually intuitive, so I looked for some documentation to help me learn it. Within the app, I couldn’t find any guidance / support to teach me where things are (I do have experience using a lot of apps, so I did look around in the usual spots to try to find any help for users- no dice). Is it just me? It is a stunningly beautiful app, with top notch audio and visuals. However I found it really lacking in the department of actual intuitive usability. Maybe I’m missing something. But this is my experience with it. Clearly others can figure it out, but I didnt, and I gave up.

Hi there, thanks for sharing your experience of using Endel! It's very important to us. We are constantly working on improving our interface and making it more intuitive. And your feedback will certainly help us a lot in this. By the way, in the application, you can read the User Guide by tapping the three dots on the main screen and clicking on Support. Have a restful weekend ahead!
  • Pretty great but overpromises a bit

Does this seem legit and science-backed? Sure! Does it claim to give recommendations based on your current state? Yep. Does it ever know my current state? Not even close.

You would think that with all the wearable devices I have (Apple watch and Oura ring) that it would have some idea I was awake but it never does. I’ve had the app for a few months and even after following the instructions to use the “bedtime” function and the alarm on my phone, when I get up at 4:30 every day, it suggests the Sleep and Alarm playlists. This doesn’t actually affect much of anything because I still listen to what I want but this lack of functionality bugs me. It’s a glaring mistake every single morning when I open the app and kind of like being told I shouldn’t be up yet. Not a big deal but not a happy experience either.

With all of that being said, I can listen to the playlists for literal hours and be so happy I did. I especially love the Workout playlist. It’s so nice to just have focus while I workout without being distracted by lyrics or songs I don’t like. And Deeper Focus is amazing!!! Despite the app never making good suggestions first thing in the morning, I love it. Worth the money and would love it more if it did all the things they say it will. Hopefully it will some day!

Hi there, thanks for the thorough feedback! It's crucial to us! We are pleased that you like it and that our app has become a part of your daily routine. Regarding the suggestions, they are based on the basic pattern of the circadian rhythm, where the day starts at 7 am. However, if you have a wake-up time set (more on that here https://endel.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/4407409277202-), then the algorithm creates a sound based on that data. Thank you for flagging this feature! We will work on improving it. Enjoy your use of Endel, and keep informed of all the latest updates on socials and in the app. Have a good day!
  • Super usefull

The ability to set a timer for specific things like meditating and deep focus has been very useful for me. Not in love with some of the high pitched bells/sounds in some of the sound scapes- tend to get a bit grating for me and seem a bit too random to be comforting- would like something a bit more soothing rich synth style but im still sorting out the best usage for me so i may find what im looking for. Theres a sound scape in there with ocean sounds that really did the trick but i cant remember which one it was. All said i use the app everyday to get things done and stay on schedule

  • absolutely love .

i’m obsessed. for somebody with GAD i love this app so much i’m kind of scared of them ever deleting it or something lol. i use it to sleep, and i’ve never been one to fall asleep to sounds. i use it when i’m going somewhere. like yesterday i was late leaving the house for an appt and instead of getting really stressed out and trying to zoom there i just played “move” and i was only 2 mins late and was relaxed the whole ride. i found this on an instagram ad and times like this make me realize how good social media can be, because they showed it to the right person and i’m grateful. the designs you watch while listening are insanely relaxing. my manager liked it too and i will probably tell everybody i know about this. 5 stars ⭐️

  • Highly skeptical, made me a believer

I am highly skeptical of anything making claims like this app does, but I tried it and I’m actually blown away to the point where I HAD to leave a review, which I almost never do. I thought best case scenario it may help with my sleep but I was sure it would be minimal or the difference wouldn’t be noticeable, but both me and my girl have used it falling asleep for a couple nights in a row now, and all I can say is wow. Fall asleep faster, stay asleep longer, wake up feeling GREAT, and the difference we have felt is truly measurable and more than noticeable, it’s profound. Well done

  • Worth every cent!

I never write reviews so this comes with much conviction. The app has unbelievable impacts when played in coordination with your mood or circumstance. You customize what your looking for. Study sleep relax focus hyper focus clarity trip etc. I always had to sleep with a fan or noise and sleep playlist on music platforms never really did it. After 2 weeks the moment sleep plays I knock out and stay asleep also waking up is so welcoming with the alarm. This morning I played sleep while I was trying to figure something out and I started to get drowsy. Pretty cool. Awesome job!

  • Pretty great, needs to show timer count

Still wish they would give us a way to roll off low frequencies. I CANT SLEEP IF MY ROOM IS RUMBLING. THE ONLY TIME OUR ANCESTORS WOULD HAVE HEARD THAT MUCH LOW FREQUENCY INFORMATION IS WHEN SOMETHING VERY BIG AND BAD WAS HAPPENING. WHAT DO YOU EXPECT A NORMAL PHYSIOLOGICAL RESPONSE TO BE BASED ON THAT? What make y'all think a low freq rumble is beneficial for anything? Backed by science, but not too much science, y'all!

Also very annoying—half the time I open the app, my most used tracks are GONE, and if I pull them up in the library, there's no download or play button. WHY?

Also... I still can't sync my 3 devices. When I use the same login info on my Mac, my ID isn't recognized. I bought this thru the App Store. Why can't Endel figure out that the same AppleID = the same user? ...after years.

Yes, I use the app regularly. But as this is my most expensive App Store subscription, I expect things to be a little tighter. I'm regularly annoyed by the lack of thought put into the interface and functionality. It's like someone used one of those build-an-app apps, like a Wix or Squarespace for apps!

  • Must have for ADD/ADHD

I initially got this for background noise while working but now it’s one of my most used apps. If you have ADD you know the struggle of hating silence but also finding most music/podcasts to be too distracting or hard to listen to. I used to listen to classical music but this is SO much better - just set it and forget it and it’s so peaceful and pleasant to have in the background. Now I use it to sleep, alarm wake up, chores, my morning/evening commute - I recommended it to my therapist and she loved it so much she is now recommending to her other patients! Can’t thank the developers enough, it’s worth every penny!

  • I’ve tried them all, this is the greatest by far!

I have actual immediate results from this app, it’s amazing how well it helps me to focus! I have 3 main options I listen too that have tremendously helped me! The “deep work” option helps me focus when I’m working, I love how I can set the timer and focus on my tasks until I complete it. I also love the “read” option, because I can now read for hours without my brain wandering or without getting distracted. Then I also frequently use the “meditation”option, and this one helps me to stay in a meditative state of mind the entire time I set for meditation, it’s amazing! I truly do believe the science behind these sounds on this app is absolute. Thank you so very much to the makers of this app, it’s life changing! 🙏❤️💯
