I love the interface, really clean design. I like that I can give my practice session a rating.
Wish I could practice hip hop in here but in general it’s great for getting organized. I notice my practice is more consistent and focused when I use Modacity. Definitely give it a try if you struggle with shiny object syndrome.Show lessgelfovision
Best practicing app ever!
I have been using Modacity for the past several months, and it has totally transformed the way I practice my instrument.
It’s a brilliant app that gives you the tools you want during your practice session (recording, tuner, drone, note taking, and more), and it also encourages you to think more deliberately about your practicing.

Enough with the prompts and timers!
All I’m trying to do is set up my first practice routine and I keep getting bombarded by pop-ups to rate the app and the practice timer keeps starting. First, if you want a fair rating, don’t try to make me rate the app within the first minute of using it. I assure you, the rating will be poor. If I could just choose not to rate it and be reminded the next time I opened the app, that would be reasonable; but the rating prompt comes up every time I open an item or edit something. So fine, have it your way—2 stars for being incredibly annoying. Also, enough with the auto-start timers. At least one of them seems pausible by tapping on it, but the one that sits in the bottom left starts as soon as I open the ‘page’ and doesn’t stop unless I tap Finish. What did I just finish? I hadn’t even started anything yet. I’ll be a practicing fiend before I even pick up my instrument at this rate. I can’t really comment yet on other features—awesome or awful—since I want to hurry and rate this app just to get rid of the stupid prompt.Show lessPeddidle

I'm sorry, but it appears you misunderstood our star rating system. That is not asking you to rate the app, it's asking you to rate your mastery. In general it takes between 1 and 3 taps on the phone to start practicing with Modacity. We're always working to improve our interface and if you have any constructive feedback to share, we'd be happy to incorporate it, since we are constantly updating the app (in fact, "Don't auto start timers" is a new setting we added since this review). Feel free to email hello@modacity.co and we will offer you personal support getting set up in the app, as well as fully understand and learn from your negative experience, in terms of how we can adjust the interface.This app is almost perfect

I stumbled across the Modacity app while going through some Facebook videos and I’ve really fallen in love with the app! I love being able to record stuff on demand with my phone and listen back to it instantly instead of just using the voice memos app and having hundreds of recordings built up that takes forever to delete!Show lesskellyt0722
Great app
It has really helped me be more focused in my practice and offers other good music tools. New update fixed some annoying bugs so I’m super happy with it now. Best app out there that I’ve found so far. Have recommended it to some of my students.

Just what I needed!
Finally an app with everything I need. Love the note taking and I use the metronome all the time. I love how it also has a drone feature. Really like the automatic playback for the recording too - and the fact that I don’t have to delete the file every time. Also super impressed with the audio quality of the recordings.

Been looking for an app just like this!
Really impressed it does everything I need. I love the notes feature! I did a whole practice session today using the app as a metronome, recorder, note taker, and time keeper. Seriously impressed!
One thing that's missing is id love to be able to see my practice history. But I'm really just happy it does everything I need in a single app.Show lessftruong88
