Game Changer
I’ve been playing guitar for the better part of the last 40 years, but it was only recently that I decided to re-dedicate myself to the instrument, inject some discipline into my practicing and really elevate my playing. But I also realized that I had no real system for practicing effectively. Modacity is a game changer for me. All of the tools packed into this app help me organize my practice sessions, set goals and really push myself to exceed those goals. Looks awful on iPad Pro
Like the idea of this app, especially since the practice app I’ve been using for years has been abandoned by its developer. But it looks really primitive on an iPad Pro, which is what I want to use. And although it has lots of features, it’s a very expensive subscription. Perhaps if it can be optimised for iPad, and gets midi input so I can record my digital piano directly when practising silently in the early mornings, I might try it again. This is a brilliant app that is being developed all the time with new enhancements. It not only tracks practice sessions but also has innovative elements such as focused improvement, recording, and historical data. It also has a pretty good metronome!!f131dr
Great organization tool
You might find out you are not as ordered as you think (or not at all). This help you create healthy routines in your daily practice, I think this app is great for those who need a little bit more practice structure.

Gets you organized and focused
Sitting down to practice is like herding cats. And you’re the cats! Your mind wants to go from thing to thing. This app helps impose day to day discipline in practice, and on a more macro level helps you create a higher level strategy and set of goals for your musical ambitions.@fogbuster
All-encompassing Pro Music App
I found out about this app through various podcasts and the founder seems heavily committed to helping musicians get the most out of their practice time. This app reflects that. Features have been well thought out and help you stay focused and on track to accomplish your goals. Also, everything is tracked (time spent on each exercise, your rating of your practice segment, any notes you’ve taken on your practice segment). It is obvious that a lot of thought has gone into the design and execution of this app, which is tremendously useful for musicians who wish to improve their skills with focused, organized practice. Full of great features that you’d spend more for in separate apps, this one has integrated multiple useful features. And the customer service is astounding- the developers actually care about their users and continue to improve the app’s functionality by seeking to understand how each of us uses it. Since starting to use Modacity, I’ve watched the developers take great care in listening to their users, and to continue improving the app with each new update. Looking at the trajectory of updates, additions and improvements so far, Modacity looks fit to set the benchmark for the way musicians practice. The automation of functions such as, for example, keeping track of items and tempi that used to take forever to write down, and to rewrite in bulky notebooks is now more or less completely automated so that practice becomes more about actually practicing than note-taking. Pretty amazing! What’s also very cool is the way that Deliberate Practice (look that up) is integrated right into the practice routine. Not only that, but the focus on building community through the app is something that’ll only achieve good things for musicians worldwide.
