  • Great way to learn a new language

    I have used all of the language apps out there and I love this one. My teacher is a teacher and he is highly organized and efficient with our time. He started me as a beginner with the alphabet and already I am understanding not only the structure and word parts of Turkish but also learning a lot about English as well.

    I have a trip to Turkey planned for spring 2023.

  • Refunds Are Tricky

    The app for the most part is decent . You are able to have trial sessions with tutors. Some tutors have more materials then others so you want to be specific when asking questions with how you are learning . If you try and get a refund after 3 months you won’t be able to and you will only be able to transfer credits to another tutor or just pay your original full out . This is very irritating . They need to figure out a a way to give partial refunds and to not pay by a subscription basis .

  • Can’t add additional hours!!

    I love the tutors but not being able to add hours is a pain. I needed additional practice from my 6 hrs a week and there’s no way to add a couple of hours at the end of the month! If I increase my subscription, it doesnt start until the next month!!
    If you have a subscription, you should be able to add hours.

  • Review for Georgia Kiritsaki

    I have been studying under Georgia as a beginner for several months now. I have studied other languages for the US Foreign Service and am fluent in Arabic, Spanish and French to a certain extent. I am writing to commend Georgia for her teaching techniques and style. Even with only one lesson each week, or sometimes two per week when I can, I can feel the progress I am making. Georgia keeps her focus clearly on the areas I need to command to move beyond beginner status and ensures that I keep working to achieve those goals. She is also very supportive of the varied ideas I have to fit the program to my interests, and, finally, she is such a pleasure to spend time with each week. We both laugh at my mistakes (of which she is always 100 per cent supportive and is laughing with me, not at me, always). I finish each class having made clear progress, with a complete understanding of the next steps, and fired up with the excitement of continuing to learn under Georgia’s guidance. She is a real asset to your programs.

  • The best English teacher

    Ainsley truly helps me to improve my English skills and to gain confidence in English conversation. She is respectful, thoughtful, knowledgeable and very kind. She has teaching experience in Asian country and she really understands other people and culture. After each class, she sends me notes of new vocabularies and mistakes that I often make so I can improve my English effectively.

  • A Bad Start

    My first tutor changed the time of two scheduled sessions and Preply doesn’t give an option for the student to review the new time and accept the adjustment. The sessions were changed to a time that I could not meet, and both new times were scheduled within 4 hours of the new lesson time, so I wasn’t able to cancel them without being charged for the session. Seems like the tutor may have figured out a way to scam the system/student. I was able to report the first one because the tutor didn’t show up and avoided losing credit/payment. I’ve requested a refund via the bot chat for the second one. I loaded up about $50 to my account for lessons and I am not trying to figure out how to get it all credited back.

  • Option to connect with Calendar

    Hi. The app is good, and the tutors I have used are excellent. There is just one much needed feature, which is to be able to connect with the calendar (or add a class to a calendar, if that’s easier).
    I also wished the tool allowed to have multiple students under one login (for kids, especially).
    Other than that, no complaints!

  • Parent and User

    This has been a perfect way to get my child into learning multiple languages. We have her on Spanish and Russian and has been performing amazingly. The instructor is calm and persistent with the workload.

    It takes a lot of energy and effort to get kids to do anything - Preply has made it easy. We schedule and let our 7 year old take over. We are very happy to be working with instructors from all over the world to help my daughter communicate with a diverse group of people.

  • Crooked company that literally steals your money.

    I signed up and before my hours were used they took another set of money out of my account not 1 not 2 not 3 but 4 times. This totaled over $1000. When I attempted to get a refund I kept getting set up with some bot to try to help me deal with my situation. I was only able to get about 300 back but the worst part is they won’t even let me use the hours that I “bought” (robbed from my account) claiming they expired when they bought another set with out my consent. Be very weary of this crooked company. My tutor was good but it wasn’t nearly worth the headache I went through dealing with these criminals.

  • Good service, poor execution

    I like the Preply service very much, but they’re a little behind the curve on the tech end of things, on the app and on the website. They were having problems with uploading new profile photos. They got that fixed but now they’re having issues with Google Calendar synchronization. From the time I started using the app several months ago, there have been issues with notification bubbles that you can’t get rid of without turning off notifications altogether.

    None of these things are deal killers, even when taken together. And, in their defense, I will add that tech support is very responsive and eager to help, where they can.
