Great children savings app!
Just created a unest account for our two children and the experience has been very easy. We love the flexibility it gives in adjusting how much to contribute every month and provide a projection on the total savings it will generate. Can’t stop deposits. Random bank activity.
This app is simple to setup and has a lot of potential. My gripe right now is they randomly stopped my auto contributions, made a random deposit into my bank and then pulled the money back out over a week later. There is no notifications.
They offer no control to stop contributions. No phone number for support.
While I am looking for a simple solution for my daughter’s college, this is too simple right now. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.Show lessAj2301
Good concept, poor execution
I signed up for this app a while ago. I’ve had to contact customer service for multiple deposits. Even though they claim to be automatic, they aren’t processed until I contact customer service. This makes me scared about the withdrawal process. I’m currently seeking other options. The gifting option seemed awesome but when j reached out about it before COVID, I was told “hopefully within the next two weeks” they’d launch the gifting feature. Seems like overall, this company is slow at getting things done. That’s not how I want my money invested in my child’s future. I want it done at a certain time. While this app simplifies things, I think more customization and say over my own child’s account would benefit my child’s future better.Show lessnvguu
Excellent Customer Service
On top of the app being high quality and well easy to navigate, their customer service is the best I’ve come across in a long time.

Worst app
They will not respond back when trying to make a withdraw. I’ve been trying to cancel my account and invest through the company I work for to save for my son college fund. However, after three failed withdraw attempts and no one responding to calls or emails. I still haven’t been able to close my account. And they are pulling money. I called my bank to put a stop on all withdraws trying to be made by UNest. By far the worst investing group/app ever. I do not recommend. Unintentional account creation
I came to know about this app from a you tube video and guy said you should check it out to see the options, do the comparison etc. I thought of checking it and was proceeding through steps thinking it will take me to the page where I will be able to see how to do the comparison etc. but I got a message your account had been created and it was asking me for bank information but that’s not what I wanted to do. How can I close my account? Are they going to start billing me though I did not enter my bank account info or selected a plan.Show lessAJ@559
Great app but what happen?
I was searching for investment app and came across this cool app. I opened an account for my son and future daughter. Deposited money and was monitoring my account. One day i updated the app and everything disappeared and it won’t let me login. It sets me up to start over and open a brand new account. I’m lost and confused. The communication is poor and no one reaches back to your. I’m not that satisfied with this. Need to correct errors and work on communication with your customers.Show lessJ-Moula
Didn’t recognize my credit union... couldn’t fund accounts
I’ll at least give them 2 stars for ease of download and set up of account. I wanted to take advantage of the $10 bonus they offer for funding same day and when it got to the routing number, it didn’t recognize my credit union. I tried multiple times and then went to the help section... expecting a live chat... I submitted my issue and then received a response that I had to wait 24 hours for a response. No live help. Roll over an existing 529, and save $$$!
I had heard about UNest from a friend a while ago, and she loved it. But I already had a 529 set up. Now it’s possible to roll over my existing 529 plan into UNest and take advantage of the huge cost savings (and other great features) of the app. Looks like I can save literally thousands of dollars! Garbage
I was looking for a turnkey, innovative, solution to begin saving for our new born’s college education. I’ve experienced error after error just trying to get through the onboarding experience. I’m in banking, and financial technology, myself and found this proposition to be highly interesting on paper. It’s too bad the technology and general onboarding user experience are not functioning. After multiple tries, unreturned message to customer support and even an app update...I guess it’s back to the standard providers. Best of luck fixing this!Show lessDubdub1234
