  • Braking Cautions

Please take the following advice into consideration when rating/scoring Braking while driving. Braking is a major part of driving thru residential streets, inner city neighborhoods & poor road conditions.
  • Smooth driving accuracy

I do not think it is accurate on driving smoothly or maybe it’s bc I have a pickup truck it seems bouncier to the app. I do have a lot of stop signs currently due to do construction but I make sure I stop and take off slowly and very seldom get out of the 70’s
  • Unrealistic and Not Accurate

This app is designed for video game driving, not real world driving. The app wants you to drive perfectly smooth, with perfect stops and accelerations. This is impossible in busy urban areas that have cracked pavement, raised man hole covers, pot holes, and reckless drivers. It also dings you for using your phone hands free, or if your phone slides around. The hassle and stress of this app is not worth the insurance discount. If the above problems are fixed I would use the app again.

  • So-So

If this was accurate it would be great. I’m getting dinged for driving and using the phone when it was never taken out of my purse. I would also think the risky times to drive would be at rush hours and not in the early afternoon.
  • Travel safety

Overall like the app . Helps overall with safe driving , but sometimes you can’t help when you travel - like for appointments, etc . And if you forget to mark it - you get graded for someone else driving or if you are in a plane ! Lol! I never use my phone but there have been times I’ve been called and I have blue tooth but won’t answer because afraid going to get scored down . It makes you a little paranoid . And we have hands free in cars now to help with safety . I accelerate and decelerate slowly and sometimes get lower scores then I think I should . You definitely have to brake when someone stops dead in front of you . But again overall good app and my average is high 80s

Great job on your score being in the 80s! Green scores indicate that you are driving safely. Since driving scores are determined over a period of many miles and months, a single event, score or trip may not have a significant impact on the overall score.
  • Ehh

The app works as it’s supposed to but it’s grading system is somewhat flawed and aaa should really have a device that is connected to the vehicle. I drive commercial delivery truck for a living so every morning l have to shut the app off. If l forget, there’s about thirty trips l have to change to passenger. And if someone else in the car would use my phone l would get a failing grade for phone usage or if the phone rattles or moves in any way.

  • Tracking is flawed.

The tracking on this system is incredibly flawed. It’s states that you are using your cell phone if your streaming music from your phone into your car it penalize you for working early morning shifts or late night shifts. It also penalize you as a hard break if your phone bounces around while you’re driving after hitting a bump in the road.
It also doesn’t take into consideration weather conditions at the time of driving it is impossible to control other drivers around you and their erratic habits. Being penalized for having to break hard because an individual cut you off in traffic is an uncontrollable issue yet this app will make it seem like you were just slamming on your brakes for no reason. I completed a trip where I never had to slow down. Rarely had to break yet, because there were a couple of bumps in the road it said I was not driving smoothly.
This app could use a lot of help in being more compatible with hands free technology in vehicles. And also weather related issues. to be penalized for driving under the speed limit because of snow on the ground or rain Is ridiculous.

Thank you for the feedback. The scores reflect the likelihood of having an accident based on factors such as Speed, Time and Day, Smooth Driving, Phone Habits and Trip Duration. Since driving scores are determined over a period of many miles and months, a single event, score or trip may not have a significant impact on the overall score. The Phone Habits score measures the likelihood of an accident based on phone usage, even if you are using it hands-free. Keeping your phone in a phone holder will help keep it stationary while you drive and can improve your score. Driving late at night and during weekday commute hours are risky times to avoid, if you can. Smooth Driving is a measure of how well the driver anticipates traffic flows and road conditions based on the amount of acceleration and braking that are performed throughout the trip. To improve your smooth driving, avoid sudden acceleration and hard braking, if possible.
  • Not an accurate snapshot of your driving habits.

This app doesn’t take a lot of things into consideration when driving. You get penalized for driving during busy times, but it doesn’t take into account you taking side, roads or going short distances.
I have a road that I travel frequently to and from work. The app doesn’t understand the train that I have to go across. I deathly have to slow down because I have several large dips in the road that I need to pass. I always get penalized for not driving smoothly.
You do get penalized for being on the phone, but it doesn’t take into account if you have a hands-free device so that your hands are still both on the wheel.
There’s definitely some kinks to be worked out, hopefully they’ll be some updates and upgrade to the app.

  • Not accurate

I drive the same route in the same way every day to work and back. I get drastically different scores each day. There doesn’t seem to be any consistency to the app.
  • Just plain bad

    The app has many flaws.
    * Phone habits - my phone is in my pocket, untouched for the entirety of each trip. Somehow I can be scored between 75 and 96.
    * Smooth driving - I take three blocks (1/2 mile) to go from a stop to 40 mph, and 2 blocks to slow to a stop at s signal, this scores me between 64 and 94.
    * Speed - on a recent trip I traveled 1.1 miles, it took 5 minutes, I did not hit 30 mph, score 65. I average 13 mph.
    * Time/Day - always below 90, early morning, drive time, midday, afternoon, any day of the week. Never a good time to drive
    * Mapping - half of my trips it shows starting 1/4 mile or farther from my actual start, done show me driving through yards and buildings. It just plain misses a good 10% of my trips.
    * Duration - some trips show 15 minute duration, for trips that actually were less than five. It records an end after I have been in my house watching TV for 5 minutes.

If the app doesn’t know when I start or end a trip or where I actually drive, how can it accurately measure my speed, acceleration, or braking?
