  • Ugh

Absolutely horrendous. Wouldn’t let me dry my clothes because I didn’t have 25 dollars on my card for a 1.00 purchase. It’s bull.
  • Doesn’t work with the dryers

Most of the dryers don’t work with it! Today non of the vacant dryers would work, and I had to use cash. Last time I had to try every dryer and the last one worked.
  • High hidden fees 33% of total amount

I ran one $9 load. I looked back over the statements and found out I was charged $12 and the extra $3 is called a convenience fee.

I went back to the location and asked the employee. She said she was unaware of the hidden Dexter fee. I also took a picture of the instruction sign and it said nothing about the hidden fees. It did say you got a free wash for signing up but that didn’t happen either.

    FAQ says:
Do I have to load funds on to my DexterPay account?
No, DexterPay is a Pay-As-You-Go model.

So pay as you go and an extra $3 each time is very lucrative for someone

  • Absolutely terrible application

Once upon a time, I wanted to like this app after attempting to use it for four months, it is absolutely not worth even the time it takes to sign up for an account. It never works ‼️ for anyone who has experienced the glitches and errors and the inability to use this application. You understand the frustration. I have called the customer number available on signage only to be left on hold for over a half an hour with no resolve in the middle of trying to use the account. I wish this application were no longer available in the App Store or play store because it’s terrible.

  • No email sent to activate. Waste of time

Just downloaded it. They said they sent email to me to activate. Never got email.
  • Worked for a while, and that’s the problem

A while back when my local laundromat went to the system, my immediate gut reaction was that it was going to be rife with problems. But, since I needed clean clothes, I decided to go with it. at first it worked very well, put the closing, pay the money, machine starts. That was the first couple of times. After that, the wheels started to fall off. Today’s example is exactly what I feared. two machines that were full of my laundry and half covered in detergent all of the sudden couldn’t be found by the app. It required intervention of the attendant who was on her way out the door and wind up having to take cash from me that I had to run out and get. Then, it failed to recognize an empty dryer, forcing me to move my laundry into a more expensive dryer if I wanted it dry before I went home. These all seem like they could be minor complaints, but there is absolutely no way inside the app to get any sort of support on the devices that you’re connecting to or even contact the owner of the facility to let them know anything was wrong. Well I’m forced to use the app if I want clean clothes and don’t want to have to try and carry cash, I know I’m going to have to be more wary about how and when I used it. It needs so many improvements that if you’re a laundromat owner thinking about switching maybe get the developers to make some changes first. If nothing else, a way to contact a person to fix any glaring machine issues that may arise so you’re not stuck with a pile of wet laundry in the middle of the evening.

  • Made laundry day easy

This app completely made my laundry day easier. No more searching for singles and quarters.
  • Frustrating

On one hand, I almost never have cash so I enjoy the app. On the other hand, it almost always needs to be deleted and redownloaded in order to work each visit.
  • Charged me and didn’t work

There is no way to contact support of any kind but it’s fast to take my money after it said error that it didn’t work
  • Terrible app, terrible laundromat using it.

I went to this hideous laundromat, it’s 100 degrees in a microscopic town and I already brought all my stuff in before I realized you can’t just use a credit card. I download the app, it wants all this personal info. I use a password manager, setting up new accounts is easy. So I set up the Dexter account. You have to log in to use it. It says my password is incorrect. No, I have a password manager and it always works. Then I look at the reviews. It’s not worth getting into this doom cycle for this desolate laundromat and bad app. And the address of the app is West Grimes, that’s appropriate. I get my dirty clothes and leave.
