  • Not liking the new app

I love the food tracking of the older one. It would be nice to bring that back to the one
  • A DownGrade from SparkPeople

SparkPeople was my absolute favorite fitness and food tracker. I’ve been using it for eight years. I loved being able to scan foods and create recipes to track calories.
This app is such a huge downgrade. I can’t even get it to connect with my FitBit. Every time I try to connect it I get an error code.
    Extremely disappointed.
  • Not Impressed

I have used the old SparkPeople for about 20 years after a friend recommend it. I mostly used the food tracker and recipes. I could enter ingredients and make decisions about how to tweak it the get it down to my carb count. The new app/ site food tracker is not user-friendly. There is no way to identify favorite recipes from the database and no way to add recipes to the tracker. Not going to take time to enter every ingredient into my tracker. I’m sure the new app/ site are good for some, but I wish you would bring back the old version (call it Classic or something) for the rest of us!
  • Not a shade of what the Sparkpeople food tracker was :(

You can only track current and previous days. If you like to add your regular meals for the upcoming week, you are out of luck because you cannot add for future days.
Sparkpeople had the best tracker. I cannot understand why they decided to do away with what was possibly the best tracker in the industry. On top of that, you have to log in every time.
It does not seem that they will fix the tracker any time soon. They have lost a lot of members, including me.
  • Frustrating signup

I have been trying to create new account since the new SparkPeople app now sparkamerica showed up. Every time I try I get the same response. Invalid. I defiantly miss the old app, it works way better!!!
  • Sketchy signup

Why is my only sign up option to supply 67% of my Social Security Number and my birthdate? Most places need an email address and a password. It’s going to be difficult to give these guys a chance to replace Spark if i can’t even get past signing up on the new app. I miss Spark.
  • I’ll try this

I must have missed the announcement that the old spark was closing. If I had known, I’d have gotten my pics and other customized data I had on the old platform. So far, I’m not liking this new platform. My city nor employer is listed!
  • Switching to FitBit

I know they had to do what they had to, but I miss the old SparkPeople.I miss being able to scan my food into the app. I miss the how sparkpeople tracked my activity synced to Fitbit and adjusted my calorie ratio. I miss the automated Meals
I switched to Fitbit because I can scan my meals in. They have most brands in the database and it gives how many calories I have left in the day based on my Fitbit tracking
  • Miss the old SparkPeople!

Why did they fix what wasn’t broken? All my data from all the years I was on SparkPeople, all my friends GONE. With this “new” app, I can’t even scan food! And it only seems to remember a handful of foods I’ve put into it at a time. Took me forever to even get onto it as well. Terrible app!!! Everything that made SparkPeople so great, the blogs & community & being able to scan food is just gone. Before I could even track my net carbs and I can’t do that now either. Crap.
  • Less customization

I am not fond of the new food tracker. My favorite part of the old tracker was being able to customize my own goals. I don’t like leaving it up to the app which often calculates calorie goals too low and protein needs too high. Not happy about having no control over goal customization in the new app.
