Dead app
Can’t even create a new account. Will run the new Tekmar 561s manually. Wow, amazing to see how bad this app is. Completely non-functional.
From bad to unusable
The old app was pretty bad. I thought, “how can it get worse than this?” Well, this is how. Works maybe 2% of the time and when it works it’s super slow and buggy. Watts needs to just pay a good app company to develop an app. It’s a shame given what quality hardware they have. I’d think twice before buying any Tekmar products if you ever need to use the app.

Poor Performance
The old app, Connect, wasn’t perfect but at least it worked. I wish I could give this app a negative star. For me, it takes approximately 2 minutes for the app to launch. And, instead of the landing page being my devices it’s the “add device” page. I then need to load my devices which takes another few seconds. I have one thermostat that it’s hot or miss whether the app will connect. Most times is days off-line. Wouldn’t mind, but it one of my main stats. I would stay away from these thermostats until they fix the bugs with the app. I’ve had nothing but trouble since this new version of the app was released. I’ve been working with tech support, and while they are very friendly, they haven’t solved my issues.

What happened to Sunstat Connect
Sunstat Connect was clunky and outdated, and buggy, but worked. This app is terrible, does not install properly, cannot connect to thermostats, and seems to be mostly used as a backdoor data harvesting pipeline for all the WiFi traffic in your household in partnership with Microsoft. Not worth the effort of downloading. Now we have a WiFi thermostat with no remote connectivity!

Terrible
I’ve never even written a review before. But this is so frustrating. The Tekmar app was at least predictable and worked! This translation has been awful. First not all the “devices” or zones transferred over. Second we were not able to Register some of the devices. The devices I was able to register— the temp says it’s on and at the temp set, but the room/zone is as cold as ice. Then, I couldn’t even get access to the app screen. Only bright white. Then it worked again. Then the next time it works over HALF of my zones are no longer appearing! WHAH?!?! Do I have any other choices? Good grief.

Problem with upgrade
After updating to Watts Home, several of my thermostats now say ‘Error’ and although they are connected to my Wifi network they say internet unavailable and don’t allow me to register device. On the app, it says device offline. I have to tried to reload factory default. Worked with one thermostat. Others connect to WiFi but then say Waiting For Connection. Needs major fix.

Need easier ways to adjust temperature
Trying to move the dot on the circle when the dot is near the 12 clock position keeps opening the sliding left panel menu... as a quick fix please add up down arrows that we can click also in addition to this circular arc thing? See how Nest app has the 2 up down arrows at base of the arc thing? That’s in case the slider does not work.
As a next “major” improvement, think of a way how one can easily adjust temperatures temporarily for each thermostat from home screen without having to drill down into each thermostat.

Lacks flexibility
The app only gives me one “scene” (Home) to control my heat. The away mode does not appear to be programmable and just turns everything off. I would like to be able to create a multiple “scenes” like Summer, Winter, Away, etc so I have more flexibility and don’t have to re-edit my single Home setting every time. Please add this feature. Look at how flexible the Lutron Caseta light app is for a good example.

Not even close
This was a poorly executed transition from the Tekmar app and is a parallel move at best. Even a teenager developing apps can do a better job of accessing all the functionality of the thermostat than this app. This app gives Tekmar thermostats WiFi access in name only. Much improvement needed, hopefully before next winter.

Oooof
Well the good news is I’ve only had to relogin once which is a huge improvement over the old app. That bad news is this app takes FOREVER to load the thermostat data. Please tweak this.
