Suggestions for improvements

To begin with, this app is disappointingly primitive, compared to Ecobee, which I have installed at another home. I suggest that the developers study the Ecobee UI for inspiration about how to make the Watts app more functional and easier to use.

Here are a couple of specific suggestions for minor improvements to the current app —

1. My app has two locations listed: “Default Location”, which was created when I installed the app, and “Main House”, which was shared with me by the installer who set up the thermostats. When I launch the app, it selects “Default Location”, which is useless. I must manually switch to “Main House” in order to access my actual thermostats. There is no way to get rid of “Default Location” or to make another location be the default on startup.

2. The dashboard shows only the current temperature and system mode of each thermostat. It should also show the set temperature (for heating, cooling, or both) and whether the equipment is actually operating now. There is plenty of room in the dashboard tiles to show this information.

Alarm

Can’t figure out how to have an alarm sent if the unit stops cooling and the temperature gets out of range

Free tune up and cleaning of our system installed 2 Years ago.

Gandy sent Luke out to our location to provide this service. He was thorough, knowledgeable , diligent and friendly. He responded to our concerns about vibration of pipes running from the house to the compressor and about a stutter when the unit was starting a cooling cycle. He put in a capacitor hoping to reduce the vibration on start up and will check back in the fall.
Very impressed with all aspects of our journey with Gandy!

App requirements to add your address. I dont want to share my address. Who”s that “bright” idea was?

Disappointing

After having used Ecobee thermostats throughout my house for five years, I had to switch to these because we installed radiant floors (highly recommended). The thermostats have an interface that is primitive beyond description. The app does barely anything. You can adjust the temperature, but that is about it. For anything else, you have to go to the thermostat. The complete dealbreaker is that there is no HomeKit integration.

Technology from the 1990’s

My biggest regret with my new heat pump is the thermostat hardware and software. And their privacy policy is an absolute joke. Why does a thermostat need to employ web tracking technology?
