  • Less than one star

Upon inserting the first SD card into the new reader a little bubble pops up asking you to download an app. Being in the woods checking my trail cams, I had no service. Flash forward to at the house, now with a pocket full of SD cards and having downloaded the vivitar app, the first SD card popped up with all… or…some(?) of the pictures on it, many had problems loading. I thought “Well, that’s frustrating but let’s see how the next card turns out…”
Insert the next card… totally blank (according to this device), maybe just a really poorly placed camera… but all of the remaining cards are blank too, including a card that I used in an extra camera I had to record myself checking the cards… also blank. I have and highly recommend an apple reader that works every time, doesn’t require an app, and cost approximately the same, but I left it out of town. Don’t waste your money or your time with this company.
  • Wish I read the reviews first

Absolutely trash. I’m not picky so the fact I couldn’t delete all or select was perfectly fine with me. But when out of the blue (only used it tops 5 times) the card reader only pulls up blanks. I tried different cards as well. They work fine on my computer but not on the reader. It’s trash. Don’t waste your money :/
  • Worst photo app ever

I bought this device in store to help me transfer photos from my camera to my smart phone. I’ve never been more disappointed in my entire life. Half the time it doesn’t even load all of my photos, and the photos it transfers always look blurry and pixelated. Do not waste your money on this app or the device that is used to export photos. Complete waste of money. Trash app.
  • ? Bad reviews

This worked great for me. The picture viewing isn’t as nice as the one built in, but I transferred the pictures and could do what I needed with them. This is a simple way to read memory cards on a iPhone. It works great but is simple.
  • Doesn’t work

I have a dozen .MP4 files on the SD card, but Vivitar tells me the card is empty when trying to read it with iPhone 12. No support or help that I can find. Simply didn’t work, right out of the box.
  • Worthless

Don’t waste your money. My goal was to use the card reader to view pictures from my game camera on my iPhone. It worked on my initial test the next time the thumbnails would show my previously deleted images. If I took the time to click on them, the new image would load. That continued for a couple of sessions. Now it doesn’t recognize any images on the SD card.
  • STAY AWAY!!!

Do yourself a favor and DO NOT buy this piece of crap! If you’re thinking about it for using with your iPhone or iPad, just pay the few dollars more and buy Apple. This one worked flawlessly ONCE! It’s been nothing but frustration ever since. If I could give it less than one star I would.
  • App is awful

I tried multiple cards, restarted my phone, tried redownloading the app and it never shows I have any files/photos/videos on the cards.
Plug those same memory cards into a computer or device they were used in and there are all the photos and videos.
I guess I’ll still carry a laptop around for viewing photos
  • DOES NOT WORK DIRECTLY TO IPAD PRO

I had a hard time finding my photos from the SD card and micro chip on my iPad. Disappointed but I tried to use the main iPhone, I was able to see the photos but that the only loophole I found so I can download photos onto my Ipad. Frustrating but I would definitely not recommend buying any products. The multi plug doesn’t work. I want my money back.
  • Update! Vivitar Card Reader is...

Still a piece of garbage, you really have no dignity to put a decent upgrade to fix this card reading issues.
