As for your 'all eggs in one basket' argument, creating accounts using external addresses is supported on Proton VPN, Drive and Pass, if you'd like to disassociate these services from your Mail account for example.Locked out of my files
While I appreciate Proton led the charge on privacy and an alternative to Gmail, I think they are now too big to provide timely service. Their new product rollouts are buggy (protonpass) and I have lost my trust in the company. Support asking for subjects of emails after protonpass glitch locked me out of my own accounts. I bought 2years on Nov 1st renewal and now I want a refund. One company now can block me out of everything (drive, etc). I am discovering Tuta thanks to Proton’s new glichiness. Outdated recovery documentation and poor support forced me to find an integrated mail/cal app, which is cheaper and I’d rather have my files in dropbox and password in third party services. Speaking from this recent nightmare experience, all eggs in one basket is a security issue and Proton has jumped the shark in doing one thing and doing it right. I’m a big fan of all the Proton products, including Drive. The focus is on security and simplicity. My only complaint is that navigation within the UI is very slow. It is worse for large files, particularly large family videos I’m backing up using Proton Drive. Speed up the responsiveness and navigation and it’d be 5 stars.Show lessdssnt

Works “ok” when no errors. I would say, 8/10 times i would get an error msg when trying to upload files. It would say error, content available. Gets annoying. If ur PAYING 4 a service, IT SHOULD WORK. Would not recommend because of thisMAXIMUS 1NE

I would love to be able to sync my photos to Proton Drive from my iPhone automatically. They have this feature in OneDrive, I would love to get away from them and utilize this as my solution. Unless I am completely missing this while using the app?Chop1dog

Not only is there no way to search by filenames but most filenames are unreadable (the names are abbreviated and there's no way to extend them in the app). Cryptomator is definitely the way to go for encrypted cloud storage. Proton Drive is incredibly under-developed and missing many basic features.Show lessAngelaLansbury45

Hi! Currently, we support search on our Proton Drive web client, and we'll be expanding it to mobile and desktop. This is not a straightforward task because all the file names are encrypted, so that's why it is taking us some time to come up with a simple and secure solution.Frustrating times on iOS
If you need to back up large volumes and not interact with them regularly, then Proton works acceptably and is a good deal, especially accounting for the included mail and VPN service with the paid plan. However, I can download a 3gb movie torrent faster than my 15mb files go with Proton (over wifi). The menus are convoluted and confusing; saving a file from the cloud to your phone involves either going through the “share a link” option (despite no links being shared) or “downloading the file for offline use”…and then clicking back through each individual folder until you reach the main menu, THEN accessing your large catch-all folder of downloaded files, and then finally sharing the file into your iPhone drive. People who have the desktop Proton Drive client will know that it is finicky with locking files and as such is not a great substitute for OneDrive, or Dropbox. The simplicity and value are appreciated- but maybe the security architecture of the Drive system impedes its functionality. You won’t be able to access drive files from other applications, for example. You cannot even access Drive files from the Protonmail app to attach.Show lessPopitrez

Sometimes it’s impossible to find a file I’m looking for on the mobile app because there is no search. When will you implement this?
It’s also frustrating that you can only upload 10 photos at once. No way to easily back up 100s of photos directly from the phone. I had to transfer photos from my phone to PC to upload them all at once on the web app. Is there a reason for it??
I wish you’ll fix these soon since otherwise Proton Drive is helpful.
Last one is a suggestion, it would be neat if the color of the folders was customizable like the labels in Proton Mail or Calendar. I think Google Drive lets you do this. It’s good for organizing many folders.Show lessngcotuhihojyerx

We'll share your suggestion regarding the folder colors with our team as well. You can also expect further improvements to Proton Calendar on iOS in the months to come.Half backed iOS version

Most infuriating, I was told to use a CAPTCHA. First time ever on any Proton service I have seen a CAPTCHA. This has got to go. Proton is better than this. It is an archaic tool and generally used for crowd sourcing labor.Show lessjust_some_person
