  • The pomodoro app I was looking for

I don't review often but felt like Session should be given the praise it deserves. As a pomodoro timer, it does what you expected. It's the features around it which makes Session unique and a pleasure to integrate into my daily workflow. From the "take a breath" step as you ease into another pomo to the reflection post-session. The UI/UX is well presented and the real-time sync between iOS and the Mac works great. Keep up the amazing work Philip!

  • From Master Procrastinator to Productivity King overnight

It took me about a day to "get" this app. But on day two of using it, I took off. It's got a great workflow, especially when you sync it up with your iPhone, that kept me focused and coming back to work fresh for a new session. I totally recommend it if you're having trouble focusing and gettting stuff done. It's a game changer for me!

  • What an excellent productivity tool

After using so many different tool, finally I have found the perfect one!

The counter is subtle, practical and beautiful. It allows me to make notes and reflection after each session. Has plenty of cool features to make sure I take a break now and again. Allows me to gain insights from my routines and patterns. And I love the breathing feature. Makes everything feel so smooth and calm. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

  • Only Gets Better

I've been looking for this app for a long time. What makes Session stand out for me is the 'no-thinking' it takes to plan, start and keyword (intention) each work session. Session doesn't stop you and demands a conversation or even a learning curve. Getting an 'overview' of how I spend my time is so helpful. I've kept my eye on the development and with each version, it's becoming more streamlined. The developers are not only listening to what we, the users, are suggesting, but they also make sure to do things slowly and with quality. Thank you for your work! :)

  • Really well done

This app is super nice and well thought out. I especially love the calendar integration. My usual flow is to time block my day by dragging stuff from my task manager into fantastical. Those items then show up in Session where I can then click on them to start a session based on the time block itself. It's super smooth, well-designed, and feature rich. The developer also seems like he's putting a lot of effort into it as well. Recommended.

  • Excellent for students

I've never been a big fan of the pomodoro 25:5 technique, but this app actually lets me go further and do a 50:10 technique, where I get longer study sessions and a longer break. I also like that it categorizes my sessions. The thing I love the most about this app is that I can connect it to my Google Calendar and have my calendar and my study sessions all organized in the same place. I'm a medical student so there's usually a lot of studying going on throughout my day and having it all organized, categorized, and color coded makes me feel more in control.

  • Best of the Pomodoro Apps

I've tried various timers and focus apps over the years but none of them have made much of an impact on my actually getting work done until this one. Session has a nice flow--gathering information about your intentions, collecting note about what you've learned from your work, and allowing easy pausing and restarting when needed. The best feature for me is the integration with my calendar--the visual display provides ongoing motiviation. I haven't tried extending the capatilities with automation features, but it's nice to have the capability if I need it.

  • Adopted in 5 mins, subscribed in 24 hrs!

    Great software, simple yet rich.
I like the friendly invite to capture my intention before a session, and the quick breathe exercise when the session starts.
There's enough data, stats, and charts too! for the geek I am.
I went for a monthly pro subscription soon after, not because I felt limited with the free version but because I saw high potential in the additional features. Mostly though, that's to help Philip with the development of this app.
    Great job, keep focusing!

  • Love it--helps with motivation.

I've been using the pomodoro technique for years with various methods and success. This is my favorite so far because it not only tracks how many pomodoros I've done for the day (motivating to see), but also automatically tracks your break times. It's even more motivating to see how long I've been distracted. I appreciate that I can change the timer length to fit each task, and the encouragement to breathe at the start of a session helps with mindfulness. Thank you!

  • Beautiful, intuitive app

I have really enjoyed using Session. If you're like me, balancing a number of projects for school/work and you have a variety of responsibilities... it's hard to feel like you make much progress. Session changes that by showing you how your day has been broken down and how your day or week has gone.

I have a few suggestions that if the developer(s?) find the time, I think could help Session improve. A little area above or below the time wheel where you can write a short to-do list (like - "what's your focus today?), would help. I find myself going back and forth between my Stickies app or a post-it to remember other things I should tackle today.

Another (major) feature would be an intuitive way to have a "super view" of the amount of hours you've worked on a particular project, and compare it to time spent on other tasks. I find myself going back in the week trying to count/approximate the hours - when in reality it would be nice to have that report per project (not stratified by day)

All in all, if you're looking for an app to help you focus, is easy to use, is constantly getting updated, and visually remind you that you are continually making progress each day - I highly, highly recommend trying out Session.
