  • Amazing!

Love National Theatre at Home! The performances are incredible. The app is easy to use and I have never had an issue with it. The best streaming service I subscribe to.
  • This was my best purchase of 2021!

If you are thinking about a subscription, do it. I am a theater buff and really enjoy these rich and thought provoking productions. The big plus for me is I can watch them over and over again to catch nuances of meaning and directorial craft which is especially true for the many Shakespeare plays. I used to waist time surfing Netflix for what to watch and this subscription has saved. Kudos to National Theater for doing this.

  • The best theatre in the world

The National Theatre at the West Bank is my favotite place in the world.
The way these great plays are recorded is incredible! It’s almost like you are right there!
  • Amazing…almost as good as being there!

What a fantastic gift…experiences I could never have unless I was rich enough to go to London. Often. Thanks for such incredible theatre!
  • Theatre experience in your living room

I got the app as soon as it came out, having enjoyed the free at home performances during the pandemic so much. I miss the theatre and although I can catch local performances have accepted that my chances to see top performances like this live are likely to be few. I like to ‘book’ an evening with a performance and make it a home treat with a glass of wine, some snacks and a chair pulled up close. No, you don’t get the theatre experience (or cinema which I did for a while) but you don’t have to ruin your mood searching for a car parking place, have no other heads in front of yours and can pause to go refill your glass. I have also watched performances I don’t think I ever would have booked to go and see, writing them off as ‘not for me’. This app has been a lifeline and an education. Treat yourself to some amazing performances and experiences and don’t limit yourself to what you think you will like.

  • I Just Want MORE

I’ve had the service for almost a year now and it has been a blessing in these dark times. I live in Georgia, USA and we don’t get to see theater of this standard often. When the National put their shows online during the start of the pandemic it felt like going back to the theater again. It game me hope. Now when I’m at a loss creatively or just need a little pick me up, I open the app and find a show that I’d have never been able to see before. I wish the selection was wider and deeper— but I understand the difficulties that entails— furthermore I think they’re releasing a bunch of new shows this year! This isn’t standard theater, or a “stand in” for theater and it certainly isn’t film— it’s far more alive than film can ever be— but it is exactly what the world needs right now: a series of living breathing moments that ask us to breathe with them and listen. Thank you to all the artists and production staffers! You did it!

  • Front Row to the Finest

There is no other streaming service that consistently provides the highest quality performance art and stagecraft. This is a must have for anyone with a love of theatre. And the app works flawlessly.
  • Salvation in Isolation

One of the best things we’ve done while avoiding gathering in a theater. And hey, we’re not in the UK, so even if we could be out and about, still fantastic. Nice variety, some real treats, new discoveries, old friends. Some challenging, some just good fun. Hope this will continue, even when we’re ready to gather again. Kudos to the directors, actors, designers, technicians, filmmakers and all who have made this happen.

  • From Abroad

How fantastic is it that I get to watch great drama with great actors as if I lived in London and not in Australia! I love the idea of buying single plays rather than a subscription but not sure if that is offered now. The recordings from the archives are real gifts. Thank you.
  • Wonderful!

This was the best investment I’ve ever made in a streaming service. The plays fabulous. I’ve recommended this to everyone I know who likes theater.
