Changed my life

I am in the US and started using Sleepio in September, 2017, when I was 63 years old. I had suffered from insomnia for many decades, and was using Ativan, a benzodiazepine, for about 10 years. My doctor said it was safe and non habit forming, and that she used it herself. When I retired and moved to a new state, my new doctor said I should get off of that pill because it’s more dangerous the older you get. Around the same time, I saw a brief mention about Sleepio in a magazine. I went through the entire program over several months, and soon after, I was completely off of Ativan. I gradually reduced my dosage over several months, and now only use it during international travel with significant time differences. I don’t know if the program is different now, but I found the Community interaction to be crucial for success. Most of the members were from the UK, so it didn’t seem to be used in the US very much. I highly recommend this program. In the UK, it’s covered by the National Health Service. I don’t know if insurance covers it yet in the US. I didn’t pay anything, because I think it may have still been in a testing mode. But it absolutely worked for me. Like other programs (losing weight, getting off drugs or cigarettes, etc) you have to be determined and motivated, and trust the process. Interacting with the community within the app is also key. Great program, poor app, zero support

The program itself is great, and helped me get my sleep back on track, which has been terrible for years. However, having completed the program, I want to keep using the app to track my sleep, to stay on top of it. The app continually asks each week if I want to change my sleep schedule, and there is no option to make it shorter, only longer. I’d like an option to no longer prompt me to change it, once I’ve found a good set of times. I would also like to start over right now, because I had a recent set back, but there’s no option for that either. But the worst thing is that up until about 1 month ago, it remembered my NHS login, now it forgets every day, and insists on a new login. I tried 3 times to contact support, but have had zero response, not even a “Thank you for your email”. Extremely poor. I give the program 5 stars, the app 3, but support 0.

Update: thanks for your response but I work in the NHS and they don’t make me re-authenticate every day, maybe once per month. And your app was working Ok, until it changed to insisting on daily login only recently.

Also, I tried all the email addresses you said, but no responses, automated or otherwise from any of them.
If you can contact me directly or somehow get someone from support to do that, it would be appreciated.

It is a policy of NHS Login for independent treatment providers to require automatic log out events at various time markers. Life changing

This app has dramatically changed my life. I can’t stress enough how grateful I am to have come across it. I know go to bed at 11 and wake naturally at 6.45 feeling rested. I started the course with a sleep score of 1/10 and a sleep efficiency score of 29% - I was depressed and highly anxious, getting sick a lot. Now I feel so much calmer and feel sleepy and good getting into my bed, which I have made into a kind of cocoon space only for sleep. With this app you will get out what you put in folks but there is hope for you! I suffered with insomnia for about 4 years then found this. THANK YOU SLEEPIO

Awful app

Awful app just doesn’t work. Won’t let you create a password or log on. Was recommended by a mental health practitioner and signed up via nhs log in etc but is impossible to get into the app and no one will help. Ridiculously poor. Would recommend sleep cycle though. That’s good, as are the support teams. These people are not. Also really interesting looking at these to see how far downhill the app has gone in the last year.

Gets to the point

This app requires discipline. When I am able to exercise the willpower to follow its guidance, my sleep is greatly improved. I have done some backsliding. But then I see that problems result.
Now, I am following the guidance and my total average sleep per week is increasing between five and 15 minutes. Also, it is nearly always uninterrupted sleep. I have been using the app for six months. It is not a magic bullet quick fix. It requires commitment and consistency.
I have gone from sleeping maybe four hours a night with interruptions to sleeping over seven hours, almost never awakening.
I never could have done this alone. Thank you.

I want to try it but it won't let me

For some idiotic reason, it won't let you create an account unless it's covered by your insurance plan. I'm willing to pay out of pocket. This is discrimination, pure and simple. Or else stupidity.

Not Available

I spent over an hour today with my GO explaining my long term sleep disorder with the hope she could refer me to a sleep clinic - ‘Sorry not eligible but what we can recommend are some self referral self help option’ - Sleepio being the primary option available - Thanks Dr I’ll do that then only to find when I try to register I am not in an area covered (E1W).

I am incensed that a GP would recommend something that they have not reviewed availability within their practice area

No Apple Watch Sync

I like the app but it would be so much better if it supported Apple Watch sync. It only syncs with Fitbit.

Not Available

The app sounds great but I can’t access it because of where I live in the country and there doesn’t even seem to be a way to pay for it. I think it’d be great to introduce a paid version for those in areas where it’s not accessible, and make it clearer in the app store description it isn’t available for all.

Such a shame

I’ve been struggling with sleep issues for many years now. My doctor told me that this app was one of the best to help with my issues. I was super excited to get started. I’ve downloaded the app to then find that the area that I live in isn’t included. I couldn’t find anything that stated this could be an issue. I’ve added myself to your waiting list but don’t know how long I will be waiting. It’s such a shame.
