Slow and full of bugs
Btw they charge you if their app doesn’t load and even when you send them proof of the app not working. How long to you expect me to stand in the same spot waiting for you app to register that I parked this bike. Make sure the picture isn’t too blurry they will get you for that too!
Incredibly poor app and customer service
We were in New Orleans for a week and thought being able to use this bike share service would be very useful, and at first, it was. Then the app glitches starting happening, like not letting us lock the bike after a ride (and yes, we carefully read all the FAQ’s about how to do it properly), or having the minute fee start, but then not being able to unlock the bike, which caused fees to start even though we weren’t using the bikes. And they worked fine the first few times we used them. Then it was 50/50 after that. That’s a lot of glitches, with 4 riders.
Then the issue with their customer service. You aren’t able to contact a live support person, so all you can do is submit a problem and wait. Well after 5-10 minutes of waiting, we realized we aren’t going to get a quick response, so then we had to pay for some other solution, like an Uber or cab. And even though they sometimes (but not always) responded, they did not refund our non-use rides; only a credit for future rides, which is useless to us, as we don’t live in New Orleans.
Overall, a very unsatisfactory experience, poorly developed app, and non-empathetic customer service. Avoid! Just rent a bike from a shop and be happy.

App is not user-friendly!
This app is not easy to navigate and the system does not allow you to use it without disclosing your precise location and Bluetooth connectivity. On top of that, you can only rent one bike at a time which means you can’t enjoy a bike ride with anyone who does not have a smartphone eg a parent!!
Pathetic
I spent a week in NOLA with two friends. We had ongoing issues with the Blue Bike app. On numerous occasions it would not load properly and we were forced to abandon the bikes and instead take an UBER. I contacted Blue Bikes (owned by Lyft) to express my frustration and disappointment. I was hoping for a partial refund. All they offered me was 3 x 20 minutes of free bike use. This compensation is useless as there are no Blue Bikes in my home town. As communities, we need to rethink entering contracts with billion dollar corporations with a complete disregard for ordinary users. If I return to New Orleans, I will arrange a bike rental through a small, deserving local bike shop.

Don’t Waste You’re Time, Absolutely Terrible App
The lock system as archaic, the app is clunky and customer support is a no-show/joke. Don’t waste 30 minutes of your time trying to set the app up, have nothing work, lose $ and then get an Uber anyways.
Don't Use Nola Blue Bikes:
The app will over charge you. They will also block your access to transportation over petty reactions to there buggy app. Very petty people. Unfortunately New Orleans has no competitor so we’re stuck with these Morons. Hopefully somebody brings this monopoly of a bike share services to the attention of city hall and gets a better service that doesn’t take advantage of its residents patience.

Needlessly difficult
I’ve used bike rental apps in countless other cities and this so far is the only one I’ve found to not be easy to use or convenient. For starters you really can’t use them uptown without incurring a ridiculous $25 fee. Difficult to lock and unlock bikes. Will get irritating emails from support if they don’t like your lockup photos (what other bike share service even makes you do that?)

Only using this cause I have to
Couldn’t check out a bike when trying to get home despit multiple bikes being available. Terrible UI.

Worst App I’ve Ever Used
I can’t believe anyone said this app is good to roll out to consumers. Save yourself an hour of load times and just walk.
