Clunky But Worth It
The system isn’t perfect and the app is a little clunky, but this is the objective best way to commute around New Orleans.
An Annoyance
Tried to unlock two different bikes, time kept running while bikes were locked, though the app said the bikes were still locked. Spent 10 minutes in the heat trying to physically unlock each bike, and they kept beeping randomly.
Can’t see the map!
Membership , welcome and other junk can’t be placed in background to search the map it’s sooo annoying
Bad management of the app and the program
It’s a shame blue bike company is receiving all these bikes via sponsorship but do an awful job running the program. Locals deserve better service and treatment. This service is not affordable and designed for middle class and tourists. The app barely works and crashes all the time or won’t take photos when trying to end the ride. The user experience is awful they make you swipe a bunch of images. The support is ignorant they charge fees like crazy for an affordable bike share program that’s sponsored for the city. City should audit this company ASAP. What are they doing with these donations? Are they giving this non profit service to the locals or tourists? I ve never seen a non profit company do so much profit. Audit their records.

Doesnt work most of the time
3 of my friends just hopped on the bikes with no problem but i had to walk to 4 different stations and i kept getting a “vehicle unavailable” or vehicle not found on 10+ bikes. Got it working one time the day before, was pretty fun. But got stuck walking afterwards after that bikes electric boost stopped working on 82%

Great bikes awful app
App crashes regularly and won’t let you end rides. Happens to my friends and me almost every time we try and use them! Bikes are awesome if you can get the dang app to work!
Of course, app crashes on the most needed day.
Once again blue bikes tank on Mardi Gras day. App crashes and we can’t use the bikes to get across town.
Perfect way to get around the city
Quick, cheap, effective, abundant. What more could you want?
Good outweighs the bad…
I definitely agree that there are issues unlocking/ locking , location tracking, etc. And please don’t wrap the lock “incorrectly”- you’ll receive disparaging emails and threats to charge you extra if the picture isn’t up to their support team’s standards. It’s very exhausting.
Once you get used to the quirks of the system- the bike does provide a fun and healthy way to move about. That’s all I have. *shrug *

Try it for yourself!
Me and my husband tried this out today for the first time. We were weary because of the two reviews it has. But neither of us had issues downloading the app or locking the bikes back up. It was a pretty easy system. We also didn’t realize that they were electric bikes! So it helps speed you through New Orleans without any issues! It’s very fun and made our day more enjoyable. I say try it before worrying about any reviews. Self experience is better than missing out on a potential fun experience. We both rode around for an hour and a half and only spent $24. It was much more enjoyable to be able to speed through the streets not in a car. Stop when we needed you to go inside stores, and not have to worry about annoying tour guides lol
