  • Smart Mode

Smart mode worked for about a week before it stopped running the schedule I created automatically. I have to manually adjust now.
  • Needs an update

I only use this app to adjust the temperature. It’s so difficult to get the temperature I want because it’s too glitchy with the sliding scale. Please change or add the option to change to the +/- or the option to just type the number. It’s faster to grab my fob to unlock the door.

  • Glitchy

Thermostat glitches out constantly leaving me in the sweltering heat. No idea why anyone likes this.

  • Not user friendly.

My apartment complex installed these and we all received new key fobs.

The temperature adjuster is so tetchy - there are a million other ways to adjust temp on a touchscreen (using +/- buttons, for example) that is so much easier for app users than the current UI with the sliding scale. The only aspect that I do like about the thermostat is: I love being able to control it remotely.

In terms of accessing my apartment, this app is basically useless. It never finds my lock the first time I click Unlock - I always have to do it twice. Always takes at least 30 seconds. Key fob is always so much faster - even when my arms are full of groceries and my phone is already in my hand.

Quext needs to take some notes from Latch. My sister has it at her apartment complex and it is so much better. I feel like this app was made for an iPhone 5.

  • Easy access to my place

I really like Quext and the convenient way of controlling my apartment temperature and door locks from my phone. I noticed with the new update you can schedule a “Quext Pass” to let your friends/family in without a key at any time.

Overall I dig the app and its simplicity.

  • Thermostat Control Difficult to Use

I only use this app to adjust the thermostat as I find no utility in the front door unlock function (I just use my key fob). There are several other options that would accomplish the same function of changing the thermostat temperature without the precision required to use the current slider. I hope the developers change this to a +/- feature like a regular thermostat.

I don’t see myself ever using the lock function unless there was a way to check to ensure your door is locked when you aren’t home, or to lock/unlock your door for guests when you’re away.

  • Worst locks

The key fob works fine. It’s the app, whenever use it I won’t work. Says too far from lock, even my phone is touching it. I wouldn’t choose to pay, I’m forced by apt complexes. It’s basically crap.

  • More complication than convenience

Recently Broadstone wanted residents to have smart locks and thermostats. I’m sure there weren’t any say so in this matter so most residents came to terms with that decision. The locks aren’t really that smart. You still have to turn the lock when you get inside. It’s the exact method as using a key to turn a lock. I think most people will get use to it so that wasn’t my main complaint. The bigger issue is the smart thermostat that isn’t being so “smart.” We have been trying to turn the AC through the app and the physical thermostat and to no avail nothing has been working. Granted, the apartment isn’t charging residents this month for the items that were installed, but it has been a big issue already. I’m young so I can endure technological difficulties, I just feel bad for elder residents who aren’t tech savvy and are forced into “smart” devices that are causing complications rather than convenience.

  • Extremely slow and clunky

Unlocking the door is annoyingly slow. I was initially excited when my apartment complex decided to transition to smart locks but this must be one of the worst products/software out there.

  • Not a fan

Our apartment complex installed these while I was at work. I created my account before the instillation of the locks/thermostats. Everything seemed ok. I set up Face ID unlock and a password. Now that I’m home and trying to unlock my door the app is telling me invalid password or email. I’ve updated the app, but that didn’t help. Reinstalled. Nothing seemed to work. So I’m trying to reset my password yet no password reset email has arrived. Which should be immediate. Double-checked my email address and submitted the request again. So here I am, standing outside my apartment waiting for a password reset email for the past 30 minutes.
