  • Far too limited. Tech users stay away.

    You can’t turn off your Wi-Fi (save power and improve security)nor change its channel nor limit it to only 5g or 2.4g. You can’t turn off UPnP. The only network encryption/security options you have is the password. Who knows if your network is using poor encryption methods or not and you can’t disable it. You are also limited to having only one cell phone controlling the router. If you want to use a different phone you have to call them to change registrations. You must use Bluetooth during setup. Control from a PC is not possible. There are some filtering toggles, but no explanation on how they work. How does the gateway protect my PC files from ransomware and crypto miners? What are the sources for ad and adult content blocking? Why do the pods say they have firmware updates yet they won’t update? Why does the app size in the App Store say it’s size is 132mb while the iPhone says it’s 387mb (not counting user data)? This is the second largest app on my phone! Routers from 30 years ago had more functionality than this app based system. This system is completely unacceptable and as the main go to guy for tech things I will never recommend your services to everyone who asks me while you keep this system so locked down. If you want to have basic and advanced modes then fine, but basic only is unacceptable. Finally check your local laws. You’re forced to rent the hardware from these guys ($10 a month) and that’s now illegal in some areas.

    I thought my wireless on devices would be lighting fast, it isn’t.

    When I had spectrum I could go to my shed or my porch and have internet I barely can be in the kitchen now and get service. My son says I only need the lowest internet it’s just me and dad on phones or Netflix. I don’t know on a nice day I like to sit on the porch but I can’t even get service out there anymore
  • No customer service

    Be careful signing up for Fidium. There is no customer service. For example the internet went down yesterday and after 30 minutes on hold an individual told me he’s very sick and asked a supervisor but doesn’t have any answers. I thought he was stoned. Sounded like he was in a stupor. Said they might need 24-48 hours but he doesn’t really know and neither did his supervisor. He literally said that to me. Then told me he had to get off the call to go lay down. Iv’e never had such a bizarre experience with a support department!!

    We have had this 2 weeks. Comcast was the only internet around for us. It’s nice to finally have a choice for a few dollars less. So far so good!!
  • Very useful and helpful and makes it easy to setup

    I was skeptical at first when the tech who came to install my new fiber optic home internet that Fidium had a standardized app to setup. However, this is WAY easier and more intuitive to setup in comparison to the traditional 192.160.1.1 web address setup. I get to keep track of traffic from each device, pod and gateway. Very happy with the service and I intend to keep Fidium for life. Well done.
