Poor design, poor functionality

Very buggy, lots of crashes - boarding the plane took forever because flyers were booked in the same seats by the app. Happened almost 2 weeks ago. App still has not been updated by the airline. Pretty indicative of their attitude towards customer experience overall in my opinion. They couldn’t care less. You may save money buying a ticket on this airline, but you will pay for it in other ways- not worth the stress or hassle.

Terrible App

Congratulations Avelo! Hands down you are the worst airline app. Todays inaccuracy: you show an upcoming flight for one date ( a date that we changed long ago) but when we click on it, it now shows the correct date. You send cryptic emails about changes that have been made but no details to those changes. You email about funds being added but those funds never show up on the app. Oh, by the way, by the time you add up the cost of a seat and luggage charge…you ain’t so cheap.

Excellent App for travel!

The Avelo Airlines app has significantly improved my travel experience with its user-friendly interface and seamless features. Signing in is quick and secure, and booking flights is easy with clear choices. Managing my trips, checking flight status, and making changes are all convenient and smooth. The trip management feature acts like a personal travel assistant, and payments are quick and secure with multiple options. Overall, the app makes travel planning and management easy and stress-free. Highly recommended!

I feel like 2 stars is a fair review because as far as it showing my flight as well as being able to check in— it works great! When it comes to changing seat selections… adjust bags… any sort of changes that need to be made just send me to a blank screen. Bummer! I want to be prepared and make it as easy for myself and the people in the airport by being prepared but it’s difficult to do when I’m getting a blank screen. Please update to fix! Thank you.

Not there yet

I haven’t used this app a lot but it’s clearly inferior for login. It’s expecting users to remember which id/email as well as the password. No options for faceid and it doesn’t tie into the password manager. I had to manually add id/password to the psd manager and then it’s still a bit clunky.

On the positive side I was able to find, book, and pay for a flight pretty easily.

Of course the added fees for a seat and carryon are ridiculous. New Haven is convenient but Breeze (Hartford) is slightly less ridiculous; flies more often and I can park for $7 a day. Nothing in this last paragraph is the fault of the app!

Easy to Book - But Doesn’t Stay Logged In

I’ve read lots of the previous reviews and my experience was a bit different in Feb 2024. Searching flight options, booking the flight, adding baggage, and checking out was very simple and easy. Once I decided on the flight, it took maybe 3 minutes to add passengers, add bags, and check out. That’s great!

Logging in each time you use the app is annoying. It’s not a big deal, but having to enter an email address and password with each use is an extra, and unnecessary step. This would give the app an extra ⭐️ from me.

Worst flights ever

When we got to the airport to get on the flight it got delayed 30 minutes before boarding even thought I tried to look for any delays earlier but it didn’t show anything and on a flight that was supposed to leave at 8am was SUPPOSED to leave at 10:20 am so we than boarded and the plane didn’t leave til 1 PM, 1PM! It didn’t stop there as we flew Avelo on the way back home and everything was going as planned until we were about to land but there was a slight drizzle and instead of landing in CT which is where we were supposed to land we landed in Baltimore freaking Maryland and even on the way to Maryland we just kept flying in circles until we finally landed this was for sure the worst flying expierience ever!!!

Works great

I was a little nervous to download the app after all the reviews. But they must’ve done an update because it seems to work just fine. I could search flights. My old flight that I already booked shows up. No glitches so far. hopefully my experience continues.

Practically useless

App requires you to log in each time you open it, and there’s about a 50/50 shot it won’t actually log you in. There’s a lot of loading screens that go nowhere and things like flight status don’t work or don’t update at all. Plan on printing your boarding pass or adding it to your wallet when you check in, and then track your flight at the airport. Do not rely on this app for travel. Really surprising how bad the app is considering how competent the actual airline is.

Poor app not customer friendly

The app is pretty poor for any person that may fly. Spirit offers better functions. The app glitches and forces close. When you open the app it doesn’t even show your current booked flight on the header. You have to search it. There’s no save feature or real time updates to check your flight status. Upgrading ticket options are little to non existent. You can’t even retrieve your boarding pass through the app. I’m confused how this app even made it through and consumer testing.
