Excellent app, but missing a few features.
I recently downloaded this app after hearing about it. Previously, I relied on applications such as Avenza and Gaia maps for offline navigation. However, they presented challenges: downloading additional offline areas incurred costs, and certain features were inaccessible. Organic Maps stands out due to its user-friendly interface, support, and extensive features.
Nevertheless, I have a few suggestions:
- It would be beneficial if users could press and hold on any location on the map to view its elevation. This would facilitate the determination of precise elevations anywhere on the map.
- Integration of additional map layers (such as Satellite, Shaded relief, etc.) and the ability to download them for offline use.
- Implementation of advanced navigation and GPS tools, including area calculation, coordinates derivation by offset (enabling users to select a location, specify distance and direction, and generate coordinates), GPX track recording, selection of various compass types (magnetic, true, grid), and dynamic routing.
This app is commendable, and the incorporation of these features would further enhance its utility.Show lessOfficial Monkey Business

Love that you can import KML maps and use the app offline. This is perfect for me as I often go out into the desert with no cell reception.
Two features I would love to see are:
- satellite imagery with offline support,
- the ability to start and stop a “session” which records a path you walk/drive/bike during that session, and saves that path into a file local to the deviceShow lessiphonex-user

I love this app! I’ve had to do a lot of traveling this year and it’s great having all the maps pre-downloaded for where I’m going. If there are any parts of the map that are outdated, I like to go ahead to OpenStreetMap and update the data, and see it reflected in the new version. It’s my favorite OSM app on iOS. My only gripe is that it may take a while to see the newest OSM changes.Show lessIcarurs
Great ad free app!
Overall I’ve been very pleased with the app. It’s been extremely useful when out hiking, as regions can be downloaded and used completely offline. No ads, everything works as it should, and I like the map style too! A few improvements I would really like to see on the future: - Being able to plan custom walking routes (incrementally point by point instead of adding stops). I might have just missed it but I can’t find a way of planning a walk in a full loop (same start and finish). The ability to choose from a range of base layer maps would be helpful. For a free app it’s amazing though!

GPX import already works. Open a GPX file with Organic Maps from any other app. Other features are planned, they require more focus on the UX.Great travel companion

Intuitive, modern, clean, and regularly updated, with night mode, offline maps, and GPX support. Organic Maps is by far the best OSM client out there. Kudos to the developers.
Devs: consider adding a way to view the full OSM data (or raw tags) for a selected object?
(Edit: slightly disappointed by the developer response; there's an enormous wealth of information that's useful to navigate stored in tags that Organic Maps doesn't handle at the moment - path suitability and access, monument details, shop opening times, disabled access information, hostel contact details, etc.)Show lessAmosHarper
