  • Don’t book uber via app

So overall the app works good but when I or my family use the app to book an Uber via the app — even if you type the location in correctly it sends you to completely random places.

They aren’t even close. And the Uber driver can’t update it so it’s throws everything off. I just tried booking one now… should be a 15min cab ride — good thing I check the route in advance. For whatever reason it had me booked for a 55min trip to the middle of nowhere.

Definitely needs to be fixed — to note I updated the app to most recent as of Jan 14th, 2024

Halo Rocker, thanks for the positive feedback regarding the rest of the app, though we are sorry for the Uber troubles. We hear you and are working on solutions.
  • Annoyed that tickets don’t show up across devices

I recently booked on Brightline. After booking, I downloaded the app to my iPhone and iPad. I created an account and successfully entered my trip info through the app on my iPhone. I also added a credit card for future payments, created a profile, etc.

Then I logged into the app from my iPad. Everything is there but the trip. I had to enter my trip info through the app on my iPad even though it was entered and shows up just fine on my iPhone.

Trips should show up across devices, not have to be entered per device. Makes no sense.

Hi Germanxtc, thanks for the detailed review and sharing the steps you took. We understand the importance of having your booking handy on all your devices. When you book while logged in, we automatically save the booking to your profile, so it appears on all your devices. However, when you booked while logged out (or book before creating an account), we don't currently link it to the account. When you searched your trip on your iPhone, we locally stored the trip to your iPhone, but not at the account level (aka "the back-end"). This is why it would not have appeared on your iPad. We know this explanation doesn't solve the inconvenience you faced, but we hope this context helps in future bookings. We're looking into ways to better handle linking bookings when a Guest is in your scenario. Thanks again for your detailed feedback.
  • Ride share doesn’t work

This is a severe safety concern. Sometimes it works most of time it doesn’t & I have been left in bad areas. It also doesn’t recognize places like the Hilton Hotel a few blocks from the Fort Lauderdale station & rides just never show up.
  • The best app ever

Me and my husband go from West Palm Beach to Miami often it’s so handy to use all the time. It’s low price and easy. Also it’s barely ever delayed and all the people that have our use they’re wrong. Trust me trust me thank you have a nice day.

Thank you for the glowing review and for taking the train!
  • Older App was nearly Perfect

I’m not sure what happened… I used to use the app all the time the past 2 years and it saved all my info, was very easy to use. Now it complexly lost my saved log in info and not just me, all my friends who used it as well. It has error messages all the time. So many in fact after multiple attempts I had to go home and book using my laptop. Please revert to the old app.
  • Horrible App

If you book or outside the app, still won’t show in your trips in the App. If you try to add them with the confirmation number it will always say Unable to locate trip, so basically you will never have the trips in the app.
When purchasing in the app it sent tickets to wrong e-mail! I checked my app and my account has the correct e-mail so what gives?
On top of that the customer service over phone was horrible to support with all these problems. Uff! For the high price of the tickets this is seriously lacking.
  • Needs some features

The whole operation is a sip of fresh air in FL transportation. I usually drive to Orlando from NMB and back.
Flying rarely this route. Train is a perfect solution. Especially brightline that goes Mia-Orlando.
    Cleaner,faster,cheaper,better than the plane.
You literally save 1-2 hrs because you dont have to go through the airport. Baggage policy like in decent airlines. Ticket includes carry-on and backpack. $40(or smth for a pet) once again 3 times better then plane and waaay less stressful for your pet.

Trains are amazing(not EU or China, Japan amazing, but better then Tri-Rail😄) lots of space, light and anything you need during travel. Most importantly, you can be online if you have to do a meeting or work call.
Just wish it would do 150+mph at least. To make it in 2 hrs. Nonetheless, goes fast enough, hastle free.
    Just book in advance..demand(:

Pretty much only con i see is missing live status in the app. As well as website. Has bunch of advertising how brightline is good and nice…but absolutely no useful info on your ride.
  • No support

Went to open my app to get my already booked ticket and I was logged out of the account. I tried to log back and with my existing login information and received a “oops looks like there is a problem” message. I had to go to the counter and get a printed ticket. When I got to the office the web site was working fine. Tried deleting and downloading the app again and got the same message. I clicked the support link for the app and got “whoops! Seems like this page boarded the last train and is now gone”. There really is no one to speak to. It’s been downhill with their changes lately. Less for a higher cost. There is no option to leave zero stars.
  • Remarkably horrible service

I don’t even know where to begin describing how bad brightline’s software products are. Core processes (i.e. booking a trip) not working half of the time, trips and tickets disappearing / not showing in the app in the first place, absolutely unusable list of past trips, inability to turn on auto renew on pass, pass renewing at the wrong time and at the wrong price if you manage to turn on auto renew - it’s all there. Icing on the cake - pass prices went up significantly lately and it’s very hard to book a trip - everything is constantly sold out.

My wife has been forced to use brightline for commuting on a daily basis for the past 4 months and the experience is all-around horrible. Well, except the trains themselves - they are kind of nice. But we are looking forward to the day we move closer to our jobs to never have to use the brightline software products again.

As someone from the software development industry, it’s truly beyond me how can something of such low quality be approved to go to production. I’m not sure i’ve ever used software that’s THAT bad ever in my life. Fascinating.
  • Add Existing Trips doesn’t work

I can find my existing trip but the app doesn’t allow saving it nor does it remember it. I have to type it in each time to retrieve it and the tickets.

    Developer Response

Hi DBeFrogg, thanks for your feedback on this. We hear you and will soon release a feature that locally caches all your searched trips so you won't have to enter them in each time. For now, trips get saved when booked within the logged in account.
